Not sure how many amateur fights he had but I seem to recall somewhere about 70-80. I could be wrong.

I believe he had one close loss and swore that after that loss he'd never have another one.

Thats not undefeated, I thought someone said he was undefeated as an amateur.

Plus, people are mentioning fighter with 80 so fights as an amateur. I was thinking more as 100 plus amateur fights undefeated.

I have Joe in the top 100 as well, kind of hard to say exactly where, but he's there.

I am sorry but there has not been 100 fighters better than Calzaghe. I think sometimes being white works against certain fighters, he was very, very quick for a white fighter. Most of you guys only watched the back end of his career anyway, and most of you guys are not in a position to even answer this question, including myself. But I can say with confidence that there has not been 100 fighters better than Calzaghe. His resume is not brilliant, but the longevity, the dominant performances against Lacy and Kessler, and fighting on even terms with Hopkins (between dominant peformances against Tarver, Winky and Pavlik) tells me enough.

LOL at the guy who is ranking Roger above Calzaghe, that is one of the most ****** comments I have seen. Roger was a great spoiler and had a good defense, he was a good champion overall, but was best known for putting up a couple of decent performances in losses, he really doesn't have 1 marquee win, and also has quite a few losses to inferior fighters.

Top 100 ATG. Not top 20, his record isnt good enough to be top 20. I've always said though - it wasn't Joe's fault, he could only beat who was put in front of him, traditionally has never really been that strong, until recently that is.
