Boxing Monthly vs The Ring: UK Prison

So I'm likely to get ****** up in the next month or so and I'm wondering whether I should sign up for a sub to Boxing Monthly or The Ring while I'm inside and I want your thoughts.

The Ring I'm thinking has better journalism but doesn't cover UK boxing too well. If it does please correct me.

Boxing Monthly only covers the main events and doesn't cover the global scene very well focussing a lot more on the UK fight scene and UK champs. This is good in that I want to hear about the likes of Burns, Khan and Froch and how they are getting on. Also Boxing Monthl is about £20 cheaper.

For Froch Ward there will most likely be a massive cover story with interviews with Froch and Ward in the hype up for it next month.

I don't know what the Ring will do at that time. Will they still be hyped about next saturday?

What should I get the Ring or Boxing Monthly?

Forget the magazines, a phone call to a friend can keep you posted, use the money for tobacco and fruit so you can make hooch. Good currency will help make your stay more enjoyable.

Both. I subscribe to Ring and buy BM on the stands. Even tho I'm not English, BM articles are still interesting, it deals with some global boxing news.

Like you stated, Ring has great articles and is a good read, but it doesn't cover the UK scene as much as Monthly, plus the UK don't get the issue's early enough. Big fights they tend to cover are long finished by time The Ring hits newstands here.

I prefer Boxing News. It's Weekly, and it covers pretty much all pro fights worldwide, and the UK amateur scene too. Not great on the articles though. But Card reviews are good.

I wasn't rioting. I picked up a smokebomb, a small party sized smokebomb that you buy from a shop, manufactured for used in crowded spaces, it was encased in a plastic kinder egg sized shell and I threw it and got lifted for that.

This was at a demonstration and this charge is pathetic. One guy got 10 months for shaking his fist and shouting kill the bill under this charge.

R v Hebron and Spencer 11 Cr. App. R (S) 226
Both under 21 and took part in N.Y. Eve riot.
H threw bottles at Police. S shook fists and shouted "Kill the Bill".
10 and 12 months respectively was an appropriate sentence.
IT IS NOT ONLY THE PRECISE NATUTE OF THE INDIVIDUAL ACTS BUT ALSO THE FACT THAT THE DEFENDANTS HAVE TAKEN PART.

Its a 1-5 years sentence you can get for it.

This wasn't the riots you've been reading about Medved. It was a demonstration back in March.
