I was proud of 50 Cent standing up to Floyd and telling him he was wrong

You think anybody aside from 50 is going to tell Floyd the real deal? I am sure Floyd has a lot of elders around him but those guys are living off Floyd and just look at those fools sitting outside the gym waiting on Floyd knowing that if it was anybody else they would left already.
Look at how Floyd talks about his dad in front of all those people and all those millions watching on TV. What do you think would happen if a regular member in his camp would stand up to him?

yeah i thought 50 told floyd what he needed to hear. i dont necessarily believe you gotta respect someone automatically just because they're your father/mother. I think in that way Victor and Floyd relate

That took a lot of courage on his part and at least in my opinion, the mark of a true friendship. Friends speak their mind to each other and tell the other exactly what they need to know, rather than being some yes man or flunky and telling the other what they want to hear. However, what really impressed me was how well Mayweather took the criticism. He may not have liked or agreed with what 50 had to say but at least he stayed there and listened to him. It just goes to show the level of respect he has for 50 Cent. Also, it's a lot easier for 50 to tell Floyd, Jr. what he needs to know because he is not dependent on his financial support unlike so many others who are. However, had that been Uncle Roger, Leonard Ellerbe or any other member of his crew telling him that, he would have fired them like he did his daddy, since they all have vested financial interests in him. However, 50 Cent on the other hand is different. He is not an employee of Floyd. Therefore, Mayweather cannot manipulate or control him with his money so he can say what the others cannot say and get away with it.

He grew without his parents, had nothing, and was on a road to no where. He came out and found his nitch, but unlike others he didnt just stay in his lane.. He went out and expanded and became a better all around person, even when he was taking stuff for it.
For someone that comes from such a ****ty background to be able to come up, and be as successful as he is, you got to give props....

A similar thing happened in the first 24/7 involving Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the 24/7 Mayweather/De La Hoya series. After episode 2, when Floyd, Jr. said that he never had a close bonding relationship with his father, that he was basically afraid of him up growing up until he was 21 years old and that he had always been disciplined very hard and harshly by him as well. I just wonder was all that scripted also? Because upon hearing those remarks Floyd, Sr. Essentially disowned his son and said that he no longer knew the kid that he had once raised as a baby and never returned back to his gym for the final two tapings of those episodes for that series either. Additionally, he wouldn't have attended the fight, had it not been for Oscar giving him tickets for it because Jr. didn't want him there anyway.
In addition, in the 24/7 series Mayweather/Hatton; The two had fallen out so badly to the point, where Sr, didn't make any public appearances on that series at all. In the process Floyd, Jr. basically bonded with his mother by introducing her to the public for the very first time; All the while bashing his father throughout the entire series to the point of him not even attending the "Undefeated" boxing event. "The Mayweather vs Hatton" bout. He was nowhere to be found in the entire arena that night.
So therefore, their strained relationship is real and it's not some play acting to the cameras either. They both need to undergo some very serious psychological counseling in order to work out this very ***********al relationship. Moreover, had it not been for the witnesses and the cameras that were rolling, the situation could have really gotten out of hand. Those were real passions running at an all time high during that time.
Lastly, Mayweather, Jr. was hardly contrite or remorse about what he had done to his father on the previous episode on this current 24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz as well. He even said that he doesn't care to even see or have a relationship with his father or have him back in his life ever again.
I guess that was scripted to, because to a reasonable person, he appeared very serious and meant what he was saying at that time.

Maybe the television cameras have correctly captured Floyd's character, but if they haven't, if there's at all a chance what we're seeing isn't completely real, we should consider it.
In the infamous Mayweather-Ortiz 24/7 where there's that chaotic fight happening at the end, Roger comes in and physically removes Floyd from the picture. Forget about the fact that Roger could have ended it before it got heated, when it got heated until the time he stepped in. What's all important is that Roger essentially ended it when he pushed Floyd backwards. Floyd was still yelling but he was caged. That's true love and respect on display. I bet he worships the ground Roger walks on. I think Floyd was horribly torn but knew he had to defend what he and Roger have achieved.
I don't think Floyd listened to 50 because 50 isn't financially dependant on him--advertises on his site though. I think Floyd loves 50 like a brother he never had, and he respects his opinions, as you aptly described about 50 being a true friend, I would say they have a true friendship.
