    Teddy Atlas, who trains the new WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, discussed the future development of his fighter with veteran reporter Alexander Pavlov. Atlas was candid with his comments pertaining to a possible Povetkin vs. Wladimir Klitschko meeting and gave his thoughts on Povetkin's title win over Ruslan Chagaev.

    He is going to help him grow it straight to the garbage bin. Povetkin ruined his career when he hired Atlas. or was his plan to win a paper belt and call himself a paper champion while ducking the real champ? If you dont wanna fight the real champ then you shouldnt pretend to be a champion.

        Atlas seems to be bringing Povetkin along like he is going for a PhD instead of relevance as a HW contender -- Teddy, either your guy can fight or he can't -- keeping him under wraps year after year won't do anyone any good -- he's not 18 years old, you know....

                Agree. World title my ass. That wba belt is klitshko's. Povetkin is 31. What more seasoning does he need and, if he needs it, whynhasn't he been more active? He has no name because he won't fight the few heavyweights with name recognition. He'll make a **** name for himself fighting evander and rahman. Atlas is a trainer. Stopmtalkimg like a promoter.
