not his fault that his talent level as well as his in ring IQ was/is higher then everybody in his ERA

it is not Mayweather job to ALLOW HIS OPPONENT TO DO WELL AGAINST HIM...it is his opponents job to try and make him fight a different fight and try and penetrated that defense


some fans act as if they want him to "LET HIS OPPONENT HIT HIM SO THE FIGHT CAN BE MORE ENTERTAINING"...Boxing don't work like that, guys are Warriors and take punches in the fact...NOT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BE...but because they are not bless, with the speed, athleticism or the reflexes of the other fighters who can "GET OUT OF THE WAY OF A PUNCH"

but fans want everybody to "FIGHT LIKE A WARRIOR" but that is not BOXING...that is BRAWLING, if I want to see that then I will go watch a UFC BOUT

i really enjoy his fights because of the opposite reasons you have expressed. Floyd's style is aesthetically pleasing to watch. you can learn the sport by watching him.

Yes, I acknowledge Mayweather's superior technique and boxing ability, but there has not been one fight in his career where I thought, "Wow, this is one of my favorite fighters."

There have been so many boxing matches that have made me love the sport, the excitement, the passion, the drama, that is in the ring. Even though Mayweather may have a superior boxing ability than others, his performances have lacked the soul that boxing brought to my heart.

Ok, let me get a little psychological here. Maybe I'm biased because I'm not black, or maybe blacks are biased because Mayweather is black, or maybe there is another variable involved, the fact of the matter is CORRELATION IS NOT CAUSATION.

The point is, I love boxing. And even though Mayweather is as gifted as he is, he just doesn't bring the enthusiasm, the spark that made me love this sport. Don't get me wrong, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS ONE OF THE BEST, and I even give him the edge over Pacquiao (slightly), but he is not one of my favorite fighters.

You have to remember theres a difference between a fighter and a warrior in the ring. We have never seen how floyd would react because he doesnt find himself in sitations like that. Hes a great technical fighter buts hes never going to be arturo gatti because we have never seen how he stares down a completely up hill battle.

True. he broke his hand in the 6th round of the carlos hernandez fight, carried on fighting. I think the demarcus corley fight where people say he got hit alot was actually due to floyd wanting to stand toe to toe with corely and trade. In the later rounds floyd seemed to be getting off on the fact that he was getting hit and trading. I think he urged corley on ( cant remember the round ) by saying something like "come on lets just fight!"

and with Mayweather it is not just about Speed, I thought Zab Judah was faster then Mayweather, but Mayweather was the SMARTER FIGHTER

but that is the point since you mentioned the Corley fight...IT TAKES TWO to put on a GOOD FIGHT, Corley was able to bring the best out of Mayweather, so was Hatton and Mosley

Of Course a fight is going to be boring when one guy is doing what ever he wants and the other guys is struggling just to land one CLEAN SHOT but that is not Mayweather's FAULT
