there are always exceptions to the rule but the greatest of all time is Muhammad Ali. Most beautiful specimen in the history of boxing. He wasn't just a looker, he had charm too.


Then there's Ray Robinson, the quiet gentleman swag.

Leonard, the king of his generation and of course, just happens to be the best looking.

RJJ has the rude boy swag and I always thought he looked like a black Brad Pitt.

Tyson was somewhat good looking in a very primitive, savage way but Evander was better looking and look what happened. The white knight destroyed the demon.

Floyd Mayweather is pretty good looking.


Just take a look at the top of the page. Floyd, Cotto, DLH, and Calzaghe with Pacquiao being the exception. They are all good looking in their own ways.

The problem isnt that the greats are good looking. Its the promotion of boxing and media. There are just as many ugly/unpleasant looking greats but they dont get the same amoint of love from media or promotion because it just doesnt sell.

Why do you think rjjr could sell out arenas fighting bums but bhop couldnt even though he's eclipsed roy's career at this point. Its the same reason foreman could trash frazier any day of the week but frazier was the working class hero and foreman was always unfairly classifies as a neanderthal. Its the reason hagler moved to europe. Because he was never shown the same love or opportunities as his better looking counterparts of the fab 4 even though he was arguably the best of the bunch.

That is not a sound argument.


i'll tell you why. talent and ability always proceeds image especially in a sport like boxing.


You know the early days they would always promote the white fighters over the black ones....then guess what happened? physical ability will always prevail. This isn't the modelling world.

work place it's different. company image matters and they want to promote the fair people to represent the right company image they want to project. especially in sales. You can be successful being a good looking person with mediocre ability.



in boxing, you can't just be a good looking frontman. Once again, what I listed are not mediocre good looking fighters. They are the best of the best proven against the best.
