There are a lot of handsome boxers, if they got a pretty face it gives them the incentive to not get hit! Better defense.

I don't know about that specifically. but i think being good looking gives a person a higher self esteem? or it could be the genetic component for example, science has concluded that symmetry(which defines beauty) is the key indicator of good health and physical prowess.

there are always exceptions to the rule but the greatest of all time is Muhammad Ali. Most beautiful specimen in the history of boxing. He wasn't just a looker, he had charm too.

Then there's Ray Robinson, the quiet gentleman swag.

Leonard, the king of his generation and of course, just happens to be the best looking.

RJJ has the rude boy swag and I always thought he looked like a black Brad Pitt.

Tyson was somewhat good looking in a very primitive, savage way but Evander was better looking and look what happened. The white knight destroyed the demon.

DLH, Ricky Martin meets George Clooney

Floyd Mayweather is pretty good looking.

Just take a look at the top of the page. Floyd, Cotto, DLH, and Calzaghe with Pacquiao being the exception. They are all good looking in their own ways.

The Klits are very good looking too. especially Wlad.

People always thought the ugliest ****ers with nothing to lose would dominate fighting... that is simply not the case historically.

NO ****

All famous wifebeaters too.

Boxing requires its successful fighters to be confident and egotistical. Good looking people generally know they're good looking, pretty people gain confidence from knowing that their looks are valued by others.

Some of the other Kings of the era had more "exciting" styles than Leonard but didn't get as much TV time, we simply just rather see a pretty face.

Mexico had it's 3 guys: Morales, Marquez, and Barrera. I believe Morales had the largest following, and he is hands down the most handsome man out of the 3. Marquez and Barrera are close to average looking.

I think it's the tribal mentality. Good looking people should have good genes, so we believe we should follow them for protection. This why we rather see and be around attractive people.
