Anybody using the "Ortiz drew with Peterson" line is just reaching and obviously didn't watch the fight, just looked on boxrec and saw the fight was scored a draw. There is no way that fight was a draw, yeah Lamont came on strong in the later rounds, but Ortiz controlled the early rounds and dropped Peterson twice, not to mention he came on really strong on the 10th. Any real boxing fan can see that was a victory for Ortiz and should hav never been scored a draw. Now saying all that, Peterson is a very good boxer and underrated on here, I wouldn't be surprised if in the future he snags a title or beats somebody like Khan or Berto one day. Ironically, it was rumored that Lamont Peterson gave Floyd all he could handle in sparring a while back.

i agree that ortiz doesn't really have a good chance at beating floyd, but that's more of a testament to floyd being good, than ortiz being 5hit. But it's new territory at least, and i can't see anyone else at WW being a better matchup. Im actually quite pleased Floyd selected Ortiz.

we all want pacquiao to fight floyd, because pacsmash without a doubt possesses the blend of speed and power that boxing only sees once every half century or so. . . if that. . .

I like Ortiz' chances in this fight. His youth and power and the fact that floyd is 34 and has a long layoff could benefit Vic.

show em knocking down his sparmates, one by one, and that will certainly send message to floydie that ortiz is dangerously raring to mix it up...

Regardless of who you think won that fight, the better point is that people talk about Ortiz's power as if he's going to knock Floyd out. He couldn't knock out little Lamont Peterson who was standing toe-to-toe exchanging with him. In fact, if you watch that fight or any of Victor's recent fights, he started retreating on several occasions. He was the bigger fighter. If you can't crush little Lamont, how the hell are you going to beat Floyd?

Look at the numbers...If a fighter doubles his punch out put at a higher weight what does that tell you? DUMBASSES
Exactly, he is clearly a much better fighter at 147, either Berto or Ortiz would ktfo Peterson at welter.

I would likely be making money on this fight if Ortiz wasnt fighting Mayweather.

A lot of this is a credit to Ortiz. But I think its more of a style difference in the fights and less of the weight difference.

Or it could be a even combo of both.
That is a good point, Berto didnt help himself, but I would need to see Peterson at welter before I would bet a cent on him hanging with Ortiz or Berto.
