    Frazier was smaller than Ali.
    Duran was smaller than Leonard.
Armstrong was a small man who fought all the way up to middleweight.

The smaller men aren't rangier than the bigger guys, so the small ones have to apply pressure in order to get theirs.
ortiz is fighting small. he crouch all the time. besides, floyd is smart and he seldom press a fight unless he knows that his opponent was already broken down and ready for the picking.

i dont think anyone in thier right mind belives that just becuase anyone is bigger and stronger , he's the one to apply pressure...so that misconception youre talking about does'nt exist....atleast not in this thread.....those fights you mentioned are irrelevant to the topic at hand...

the thread is simply who do you think will apply the pressure , floyd or ortiz...

They both apply pressure, but Ortiz will be the one to get broken down.

Floyd has stalked much more dangerous fighters before such as Mosley and Judah.

Ortiz may get a chance to fight on the inside in the pocket with Floyd, but does he really want to embarrass himself and Garden City? Floyd is one of the best inside fighters of the modern era.

so you predict the fight to be a slugfest then since you think both will apply pressure without anyone backing up?.... vic would embarss himself at close range?....how....if floyd was on of the best inside fighters, he would've done so well vs castillo at close range...he would'nt have gotten busted up vs augustus....chavez sr was an excelnet inside fighter, izzy vasquez was a very good inside fighter...james toney is an excellent inside fighter....floyd's insdie game is decent, but far from the best....

I predict Floyd will fight Ortiz much in the same manner that he fought Shane Mosley and Zab Judah. With the exception in the Mosley fight is Floyd will be mostly using a high guard instead of the shell.

Depending on how aggressive Ortiz fights, this fight could also resemble Floyd's fight with Philip N'dou, where Floyd stood his ground, stayed in the pocket and punished him in the middle of the ring.

              He's gonna fuck him up.

I expect Floyd to channel a laser right hand all night. That is the punch Floyd is looking for to land the most. That right hand, he is gonna throw it with bad intentions too.

He will still use his counter-punching as his offense but he will use it more like James Toney uses his.

Not slug it out. Floyd knows how to apply pressure without trading shots. He did it against Judah.

                  not sayin youre wrong btw....
The thing is when Ortiz get's nailed he goes backward it's just in his mental make to do this...Berto would land and would not really follow up on it,I don't know if he was still dazed or was it his stamina..Either way it does not matter,Berto is not even half the fighter The Money Man is..He will be using elbows and all the inside fighting dirty tricks in the book and straight beating the **** out of Ortiz..Expect to be impressed by May's showing...

I expect Ortiz to catch Floyd with a Mosley type shot in the 3-4th round but the only thing is that Ortiz will finish Mayweather. I see Ortiz by TKO in the 4th-5th.
