i know and its unfair to floyd to expect him to fight like that....when i say press the fight, i dont mean it as in go forward, throw puches and forget about defense...Comment

watch the 7th round of berto-ortiz. as soon as berto started jabbing ortiz he was in trouble. fortunately berto is not very disciplined , and he was lured into a slugfest with ortiz which he clearly couldn't win.
floyd is just gonna do the same. ortiz is easy to hit and floyd will stick to his plan, and demoralize/outscore ortiz until he gots no more chance at all. then i expect ortiz take a more open and risky appoach and will be KO'd in the later round.
it's possible that ortiz will catch floyd a few times, but he seems to recover from big hits pretty well.Comment

I think he'll stand his ground more than some people might expect because one, his legs are not as good as they used to be which means he can't be running around and potshotting all night and two, knowing how Mayweather likes to play mindgames, he would want Ortiz to start remembering things from the Maidana fight where he was tagged by right hands repeatedly. Basically, he'll try and keep things in center ring and stay in the pocket.Comment

he's gonna fight defensively in front of ortiz's face for the first few rounds, only moving backward when ortiz rushes, and by the middle rounds he's gonna crowd and pressure ortiz the rest of the fight while avoiding all his punches.
That's all depending on if ortiz doesn't choose to box him on the outside. As soon as Ortiz gets tired or fatigued, it's over.
Floyd doesn't tire or fatigue.Last edited by Paclan; 08-27-2011, 08:37 AM.Comment
