Comments Thread For: Team Klitschko is Firm: No Rematch, Haye-Vitali Possible

Bernd Boente, the manager of the Klitschko borthers, is standing firm. He categorically ruled out the possibility of a rematch between WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KOs), and British boxer David Haye (25-2, 23 KOs).

If Haye isnt going to go and fight a few contenders and make this rematch worthwhile then please go retire..For me no point for a rematch and all i see is Haye trying to fatten his already fat bank account.

Haye MUST accept a fight with Vitali, it’s his only chance of redemption. He doesn’t even have to win, just put in a gutsy performance and show the world you have heart.

Right now I’m embarrassed by David Haye, as an Englishman he didn’t show the spirit of his brethren and he needs to correct that. He can do by fighting Vitali.

This isn't news as far as I am concerned.

We knew this for a long time.

Haye isn't worthy of another title shot without earning it first. Nothing at all suggests he'd be competitive with either Klit. If he wants to prove he has heart he needs to beat a few contenders to earn that right. Personally I think he's better off retiring. He Can't beat Wlad or Vitaly and its doubtful any other fight would bring him the money he thinks he's entitled to.

Yes, that's funny. Vitali is the one who choked him out in a German restaurant, according to Haye's own manager. Yet Haye "doesn't have a beef with Vitali."

I agree with you, but the point is that Vitali WANTS to fight Haye next, therefore in my mind he must accept (and count himself fcuking lucky he can jump straight back into a title shot)

I wonder how much Haye's worth has dropped now in terms of selling power. He didn't deliver the goods last time out, he's lost a lot of credibility in his last 2 fights, would people really want to watch him versus Vitali, let alone Wlad ?

Vitali will have to fight his mando soon too.
