How much does NATIONALITY influence you rooting for a boxer?

It doesn't affect me at all but for some fans it's important.

Look at some of my favorite fighters for example bearing in mind that I'm British.

Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson, Timothy Bradley are all American.

I'm also a big fan of Juan Manuel Marquez who is Mexican and Miguel Cotto who is Puerto Rican.

All different nationalities from me and it doesn't matter. I like them for their boxing styles, personalities,etc.

I actually don't have a favorite fighter from the UK. There are fighters from the UK i like ( Hatton, Calzaghe, Lewis,etc) but I'm not big fans of them.

How do you feel bout Haye?

The only guy I really root for because of being from PR is Cotto. He would probably be my favorite fighter anyway, but being from PR is just a bonus. I'm also half Cuban but Gamboa isn't my favorite second fighter, that would be Carl Froch. I would say it isn't much of a factor really.

I tend to like boxers local to me like Barker (chelsea fan) Dawes, Mitchell etc though if you're quality like Gamboa I don't care where you're from.

It matters to Mexicans to be honest. My family both Cuban and PR are proud of their heritage but they also feel like Americans. As do I, my heritage is so but I'm a proud American. For some reason if you don't claim Mexico even if you were born here its straight up Uncle Tom **** I've never understood it.
