It's the worst thing that can happen to a boxer, but it is okay in the terms of bouncing back to the point where you still fight to become the best. We've seen it with Mikkel Kessler and I think it'll be the same story with Froch, if he can keep that healthy mindset of his.

In your comment I've highlighted a quote from you, and I wanted to ask you, don't you rather think it's these kind of champions the sport needs?
Froch is very old school. His mentality is old school. He was criticized HEAVILY 4 years ago for wanting to fight Calzaghe so badly. Everyone wrote him off and called him a clown just looking to cash out. Look at him now. He's made it painfully obvious that all of his antics in the past were for 1 reason - he genuinely just wants to fight the very best that his division has to offer.

Fighters who fight to prove something are what the sport needs. Unfortunately, the majority of top tier fighters don't feel the need to prove anything nor do they care. They just want to make money. With networks like HBO willing to hand out such large purses to fighters for fighting ANYONE, it's no wonder they'd get rich taking the easy fight instead of risking a tough outing or embarrassment.

I use to hate Froch. He was slow, easy to hit, sloppy, and did i mention SLOW? lol. But he's grown on me more and more and I'm a HUGE fan now. But he's still slow :P

Exciting fights? Froch. He could make many good fights. Bute Vs. Froch would be a war!

Whatever Happens the best man wins!

        Best for Boxing? Ward. Easy.

A young, aggressive American that can get down to fighting middleweights - possibly. I think he's just entering his prime and is game to do what's best for the sport.

I love Froch and his style, but I see so many limitations on his abilities - at least at the highest level of boxing - and think he is more suited in the brawler role. Case-and-point, I have not see many fights more exciting than his war with Pascal. Heart of a champ? With out a doubt. Skills of one? Meh.

Ward will progress and evolve into a Hopkins type fighter (hes damn near there already). The sport needs excitement right now and Froch brings that, Ward doesn't.
