Which victor would be the best for boxing in terms of making exciting future fights and capturing the attention of the wider boxing public?
What would be better for boxing, a Ward or Froch win?

Froch.
1. If Froch were to win then I'm guessing the fight would be more interesting (perhaps a spectacular comeback KO as opposed to Ward just outpointing all night).
2. Froch is more exciting and marketable, future fights against bigger names would be great.Comment

Nice comment man, spot on! Both fighters are eager to prove themselves against the best no doubt about it!
I voted Froch though in a very tie judgement from my side, but that's basicly because I love him so much outside the ring too. Always cracks me up!Comment

To be honest.. Froch will fight anyone and he's more into tough fights/doing great things than he is money.
THATS something I've always noticed about froch and I love about him. I think it would be better if froch won, actually. Beause then I know the Bute fight would be made, or he'd move up to 175 to try and make magic happen with the Hopkins/dawson winner.
These type of big fights are what the sport needs and i think it's more likely they happen with froch as teh victor, he seems easiar to negotiate with.Comment

Froch winning I think helps the sport. It will give kids in the gyms faith that they could be the next big star because he looks so ordinary to the eye.
He will also travel to different countries and make headlines for the sport, whereas I think Ward will happily go back to camping in the USA in his hometown and will enjoy favourable decisions like a lot of home fighters get and as he doesn't really talk much, he won't raise boxings profile...so for those reasons (and because I'm British lol) I want Froch to starch Ward
Could you imagine the negotiations to get Bute and Ward done? Both don't have a passport so It seems so it would be a fight online lolComment

Yes.
Even though the US boxing media tries to hype the pampered, feather-fisted Andre Ward, he's definitely no warrior and a very boring boxer to watch with his hit-while-holding style.
Ward demanded home country advantage for all his Super Six fights.
A real champion isn't afraid to fight on the road, without home referees that permit him to foul!
In contrast, Froch is a ring warrior who has fought in foreign countries for 4 of his past 5 fights.
Boxers like Ward turn off potential fans, but fighters like Froch bring new fans to the sport!
So Froch winning is better for boxing.Last edited by The Hammer; 08-23-2011, 10:00 AM.Comment
