In that case, I would be super-super interested in hearing your top 10.

There are not 10 top heavyweights in the world today.

There are a lot of good heavyweights coming up right now:

      Robert Helenius
      Mike Perez
      David Price
      Vyacheslav Glazkov
      Ondrej Pala
      Denis Boytsov
      Luis Ortiz
      Seth Mitchell
      Edmund Gerber
      Kubrat Pulev

The division is actually much deeper now than it was five years ago.

Haye is lucky that his purse wasn't withheld for his so-called 'fight' against K -- the worst thing a boxer can do is not try to win a fight, regardless of the outcome -- that's what Haye did -- he took his money under false pretenses and basically defrauded all who paid to see it -- belongs in the Hall of Shame

And Why Not? Haye Was All Talk For One Big Payday!

The check cleared at the bank. He de-frauded Boxing fans with a lay down and quit performance that resembled Judah, Clottey, Devon Alexander. He wants no part of Vitali who would really hurt him. He wouldn't even fight a Holyfield or Hopkins. I had more respect for the late Scott Ledoux who battled with the games best, but always said little and fought his heart out. That's credible. That's honorable. God rest LeDoux' soul. Haye on the other, was just looking for a bone. Pathetic at best. Haye will not be missed.

But in the context of my earlier reply, how many of those fighters would you currently rank higher than David Haye?

Forget the prospects and up-and-comers, how many current contenders could legitimately be ranked, or rated, higher than Haye?

Dont get me wrong, nobody is saying that Haye is a top heavyweight.

              The question was.....
" I personally have a hard time listing him as even a top ten HW ".

So I was wondering who fills the gap from 3-10.

Certainly nobody on your list, yet.

I would rank Adamek over Haye, but only just, and with a " ? ".

I believe that he could be completely outmatched by Vitali, we will see.

I would rank Chagaev higher than Haye, and I would also rank Chambers higher than Haye (I bet I cop some flak for that)..... but nobody else.

Certainly not fat-boy Solis, or fatter-boy Arreola.

I do NOT rank Povetkin higher than Haye, no way.

Boystov and Helenius are probably the best that you mentioned, and either of those guys could be current top 10, Im not sure, but neither could currently be ranked higher than David Haye.

This is actually a terrible discussion and an awful situation for the heavyweight division.

If Boystov and Helenius are ranked in the top 10, and I dont know, maybe they are, I dont follow the hw's that closely..... but if they are, that proves my point entirely.

Wlad and Vit rule a terrible division, no slight on them, they do it well.

i don't have nothing against Haye but with the heavyweight division being at the weakest ever, the ex cruiserweight could still beat everybody but the top two.

Regardless of how good or bad they are there has to be the ten best heavyweights in the world. And I guess you really did not read what I said. But I will say it again with a little added. Other than Arreola, who has a big heart but really sucks, and I also know nothing about Boystsov, I believe that most of the Ring's top ten are better boxers than Haye. I also have a very hard time rating Haye very high when his best career win over a in his prime fighter is Enzo Macc. Simply put I believe that Haye is and always was overrated even as a cruiserweight. But, if his mouth alone could win him fights he would be an all time great and should be in the Hall of Fame someday.

Based on what? What are you making that assumption off? He never faced young top HWs other than Wlad and you saw how that turned out. I bet Chagaev, Povetkin, Boytsov, Chambes all beat him.
