It's safe to assume that a shoulder roll, counter strategy wouldn't work outside the ring, when rough house tactics are on the table. But yes, he just might turn street and beat the **** out of a pedestrian. And seeing how he is in better shape, would have stamina for more than just a typical one minute catfight.
A guy like Mayweather, Jr., although he's not known for his punching power, would seem to have dynamite in his hands to the average man. And his speed? Those punches on T.V. don't look half as fast as when they're being directed at you, up-close-and-personal. Then there's the athleticism, coordination, timing, skills, etc. It's really rather silly, when you have some understanding of what it's really like.

Great post. You covered a favorite subject of mine. Most people can't begin to appreciate the ability of someone (not just a champion boxer) who competes successfully on a worldwide level. The thinking is similar to the above post.

Green K to you, as well.
Even to make it to the point where someone like John scully recognizes potential and decides to train. Those dudes are going through boxing's natural selection by standing out with attributes that set them apart from the rest. I don't think scully would train just any dude off th street that wanted to box.

Anybody can be knocked out,and yes a 6ft 220 guy could **** up manny or pacquiao if he got on top and ****** them out! And in a streetfight you could back up and trip over a curb or wutever lol but if u think the average guy of the same size would be able to stand up and trade punches with a well schooled boxer,99% of the time a boxer wins.

But the average guy beating Vitali or Lennox in a streetfight haha no way! The first time Lennox or Vitali lands a big clean shot on one of those guys it's off 2 lala land for them.

And to the moron who says lennox wouldn't be hard to beat in a streetfight lol the guy is 6'5 probably 270 lbs right now lol u could put him up against even a decent mma striker like Overeem and if they fought under marquis of queensbury rules lol Overeem would get ****** out! Have you seen the punch that lennox threw at Mike at the press conference? lol if that landed on someone i don't care who, pretty much anyone is gonna be ****ed up from that if it lands clean!

average guy wearing an affliction t-shirt, who watches ULTIMATE FIGHTER doesn't even know how 2 punch correctly.

pernell whitaker would KO the average man.

paulie malinagGAY has HANDS OF STONE to the average man.

"Tell a man he can't beat Kobe in one on one, he can't beat Usain Bolt in a foot race and he can't hit a Randy Johnson fastball and he'll say, 'sure you're right' but tell him he cant fight? He can't last just three rounds in a ring with a real boxer if he wanted to? He'll swear you're crazy."

              Hahahaha...that's awesome! So true.

I remember the first time I sparred. (I had been in some scraps over the years, but was good enough [or lucky enough] never to have taken a good shot to the head.) The first time I caught a solid punch in the face, I thought my head was going to explode. (I understood right then why they call it "having your bell rung".) After my initial experience, my respect for any and all boxers grew exponentially. And the champs? Fuhgetaboutit...those guys aren't even human!

Here is an example.. Roger Huerta weighs about 150 + taking on a texas a&m football player 2x his size. He is not a boxer but is still trained and proven fighter and he knocks the dude silly

Too bad the contact between Huerta and that guy wasn't caught on tape. People just look so slow to a trained fighter. All the punches are seen coming a mile away...and the counters coming from a pro are fast, hard and repeated.

to be honest, an average man of size.... street fighter or not... could beat floyd in a fight, could beat pac in a fight
That alone tells me you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Possibly the dumbest thing I've read. An average guy would get sparked, if a guy knows how to throw a punch a simple 1-2 would suffice considering most average men of size have never been hit like that before. ****n hilarious, 'street fighting experience' ROFL......... please stop. YEAH MAN CUZ DOZE STREET FIGHTIN GUYZ WOULD DO A 360 KARATE KICK IN HIZ FACE AND KNOCK HIM OUT!
