Im calling it right now. Mares will have an oddly convenient injury leading up to the fight and will gladly give up the belt thatll be stripped from him for a big money showdown with donaire where he'll get brutally knocked out within 5rds.
Abner mares will duck the agbeko rematch

Unless he wants to get stripped i very much doubt that and donaire is NOT a big money fight he has barely fought 1 time on HBO in his entire careerComment

Its realistic within golden boy's world given how much resources theyve poured into developing mares into the next superstar. It would only make sense for them to capitalize on the momentum of mares' signature win regardless of how controversial it is.Comment

unlike what you think Mares wants the rematch. He already said he agreed and im sure he wants to redeem his horrible performance. Whoever wins this one is the true IBF champ..as of right now i dont think Abner deserves it. He should vacate it and put it up for grabs in the rematch.

Highly unlikely. For starters, some people would not want to watch a Donaire battle if they felt Mares was dodging Agbeko. Second of all, that fight loses some punch if it's not a unification bout to begin with.
It also allows him to fight a fighter that isn't at the level of Donaire and he'd get some good money for it. Probably better money this time around and he'll then have more leverage in the Donaire negotiations considering it's a winnable fight.Comment

So? that's like saying chocacalito is most popular guy in his weight division.. it doesn't make it a big money fight No one really pay's attention to this weight classes except us (hardcore boxing fans) I think a rematch with agbeko would make more money considering the controversyComment
