Additionally, he's absolutely correct. His best chances of upsetting Floyd are getting off first and making it a very fast-paced fight. However, with that being said, I still question his toughness and there's no way an opponent can defeat Floyd without it. Mayweather is perhaps the smartest fighter ever. He is the master of frustrating opponents to the point of breaking their wills. Under pressure and adversity, Ortiz has shown a tendency to give up. Remember, this isn't Andre Berto he's challenging. This is arguably the best p4p fighter in the world he's facing, which makes a huge difference. Therefore, I predict a UD or a late round TKO win for Mayweather in this fight.
Very Intellegent take, Don't know if FRAUD is the Smartest ever,
but he's been WISE to AVOID, the BEATING Pac would DELIVER!!!!

That's not a bad strategy but there is one thing about Floyd Mayweather that cannot be overlooked and that is dangerous counter punching ability. Unless time and ring rust have eroded his skill set, I can see Mayweather taking a step back and coming over the top of those kidney shots with constant and countering lead left hooks of his own against Ortiz. It's a risky strategy but I would commend him on just the effort alone because with Floyd's low punch output, it would be very wise to try and swarm him on the inside from the opening bell in order to get his punches off first. It won't be easy but that is his only shot at winning this fight because by being patient and taking his time from round to round, Money would just potshot this Ortiz kid at whim; As he has done in his last two previous bouts with Juan Manuel Marquez and Sugar Shane Mosley.

      • Ortiz will not break Floyd down. That's the mistake most people have made. Ortiz has the power but he does not possess the speed of Floyd. Floyd is a thinker. He is a excellent counter puncher. Ortiz can't outbox him. Floyd reflexes are still too fast. Victor will become another win for Floyd. And all the excuses will come as to why he lost except he got beat by a much better fighter whose skills are on a whole different level

        • Ok anything can happen if he wants to win he has to come in his best shape ever cuz u know floyd is and come with that same mindset he had with berto and pressure floyd like that it can be a tough night for floyd

im not talking exactly of ortiz being like a paul williams 120 punches a round of half power and just volume..

ortiz can win some rounds on activity alone, sure. but he needs to be smart doing it as well.

no only does he need to stay outside floyds left foot but he needs to keep

lounging on floyd following his punches, with floyd bent over all night dodging with ortiz flying into him on top it will be very TIRING for floyd and his legs and back carrying ortiz all night like that.

ortiz is not a better boxer, hes not quiker reflex wise, but he is stronger, he does hit harder and he is faster at this stage in floyds career.

ortiz can come out and win the first two rounds due to ring rust.

he then needs to win 3 middle rounds and go all out on the last two rounds

            thats 7 right there

of course it is going to be difficult and of course if he toed a line with floyd

floyd would out box him 12 rounds to none...

but he doesnt have to , he needs to use his advantages to win.

remember. floyd is a sharp puncher, not a blazing puncher with pop like berto.

in fact i think berto is faster than floyd, maybe not quicker reflex wise but faster at this stage.

if ortiz had a better trainer, someone legendary like naz, roach or steward i would give him a better chance..

it all depends on floyd at 34 years old..

look what happened to roy jones when his reflexes and quickness along with

            footwork debilitated

            not good

            • mayweather should be concerned, his style could end up being taylor made for victor.

              • I'm getting the same feeling I had when Pavlik started talking about knocking out Hopkins, which is, this kid's going to get killed even worse than I thought.

Ortiz obviously can't outbox Floyd and Victor needs to apply pressure all night to stand a chance at all. But even thinking about (or counting on) a knockout is idiotic.

                • I can't believe some people on here are saying that Ortiz is faster than Mayweather. Have they watched Floyd's last two fights?
