i also dont think that floyds inactivity will be a problem. floyd always stays in pretty good shape and is very disciplined. him being only 2 pounds away from the welterweight limit at 30 days proves that. even during his layoff he still does some light training or what not so i just dont see it affecting him much. just like another poster said he has never received any real punishment in his career so that gives him more longevity. just like bernard hopkins.
i see ortiz giving a good fight but he proved in his fight against berto that he is capable of getting hit. he comes in with his face wide open which floyd will have a field day with. i honestly think that people are underestimating floyd and overestimating ortiz. yeah he berto but he hit the canvas a couple of times to do that. plus berto's style is complete opposite from mayweather's. mayweather is a master technician with a great boxing IQ. I think alot of people dont understand that about floyd. while his speed is a great contributing factor, its his intelligence that wins his fights.
In my opinion unless you are smarter than mayweather than you are not going to beat him. every opponent has come in with their game plan and its failed. what makes ortiz any different. the only way i see victory for ortiz is knockout but with floyds defense i just dont see that happening. hopefully floyd comes out with the win and finally fights pacquiao so that he can beat him and floyd can retire for good. there will nothing else for him to prove.

I like Ortiz and I am rooting for him to pull the upset or at least make it a competitive fight, but I think he is going to get shut out by Floyd.

Well Victor, let's see you do it. Remember David Haye said the same thing about Vitali, I am going to break him down, knock him out, blah blah blah. When the fight was here and he was in the ring with Vitali and not watching the tapes, he found it much harder to actually do the things he said he would do before the fight. Ortiz has the power to do it no doubt and all it takes is one punch to end a fight-ala Martinez/WilliamsII. Hate him all you want, Floyd is no Paul Williams and Ortiz certainly is no Martinez. IMO Ortiz does not posses the boxing skills to break anyone down, yes he beat Berto, but Andre has no defense, his offense is his defense. I don't see Floyd going out like Berto. But hey, Victor could get lucky and land that one punch, you never know.
