I thought Margarito taking Cotto's 0 was highly likely, highly possible, I predicted Margarito would beat him. That was when Cotto was seen as basically unbeatable and favored in all of his fights, including favored against Mosley in 2007. Margarito took his 0.

I pretty much knew and screamed Hopkins would take Pavlik's 0. While Roach and Hopkins haters, experts were calling off the old man because of his performance against Calzaghe. I predicted Hopkins would take Pavlik's 0. And he did it easily, like taking candy from a baby.

When every one else was calling me crazy that an amateurish fighter like Pascal has a chance to beat such a poised fighter like Dawson, I refused to bet at all in that fight because I didn't want to bet against Dawson, and I thought Pascal's chances to take his 0 were good. It was not an upset to me. I saw it as a 50-50 fight, Pascal took Dawson's 0. I didn't look so crazy afterall.

No, i'm not some special predictor that gets everything right, i've lost my handful of predictions. But i'm saying, i've been pretty confident in Floyd all this time, except for now. And I still stick to my comment that al lot of you are overrating Floyd. Holding the man to too high of standards. 34 years old and a 16 month lay off, is 34 years old and a 16 month lay off for any body, Floyd Mayweather Jr is not god. Has Floyd ducked real competition his whole career and that's why he wins, or is he really good and he just makes any competition look bad? Which one is it? You can't have it both ways. To me he's fought tough fighters his whole career and right here with Vic Ortiz, he's gonna fight a real good, strong, big, young, determined fighter, who's gonna have a lot of Mexican fans roaring behind him in the crowd, versus a 34 year old who no longer takes the sport as serious as 8-10 years ago, maybe not that he doesn't take the sport that serious anymore, but he's certainly not hungry anymore, he's eaten too much and simply just fighting because of the love for the sport, not the hunger. Hunger and love are two different things.
kev...i get what you're pointing at...but you need to realize a few things...the layoff can only be beneficial to someone like floyd...think about boxing at this level...most boxers do a total of 8 weeks per training camp for 48 minutes in a ring...usually 2 or 3 times a year...that's 16 to 24 weeks of being in fight shape...accumulating what you've learned and concentrating it into less than an hour per fight...floyd is extremely gifted...meaning it dosn't take long for him to get back into fight shape...but the thing is that he stays in fight shape year round...dude has been in the gym since he left the ring last may...and his level of intelligence in the heat of the moment...he basically has a 5% chance of turning old over night...95% chance of relying on his skills (regardless of ware (if there is any)) and his ring iq...i've been watching floyd fight since he fought chico and i've never seen him panic, get flustered, seriously injured, get exhausted, or just give up for even a second in a round...it's led me to believe that he feels he needs to be in control every second of every fight...

dude is the definition of the exception to the rule...

Underestimating Floyd's strength, yes hes lost a step like any 34 yr old would, but he is much stronger in his 30s than he was in his 20s.. I see Victor missing often an exerting a lot of energy early while eating many of Floyds sneaky body jabs and inside body punches as Mayweather will clutch often an slow Ortiz's aggression after a while u will see Ortiz clearly start to tire and get countered to death its very likely vic will get stopped as he tends to swing wide and wild when tired and Floyd always throws short and straight punches not to mention Floyds been sparring with big middleweights an rumored to be giving them Hell in camp vic will be surprised by floyds power...

as long as his team has a well-thought out game plan, then he has reasonable chance at actually winning; all I have to say, is that Mayweather has trouble with southpaws, and I believe he will be shocked at the power that Ortiz has; Ortiz will clip him, no doubt in my mind!! oh, and I agree with him, that Jose Luis Castillo beat him!!! Oscar lost though!

I think floyd took off all this time was because he had bad hands , let them heal and will now break them up on the next few fights. before he retires. i'll say floyd is saving his brittle hands to KO PACMAN. I think thats why he hasn't been fighting the last few years his hands busted up...

that is if chicken floyd stand toe-to-toe with ortiz...but we all know that chicken floyd will not engaged in toe-to-toe fight even if his opponent is relatively smaller than him like crybaby marquez...

ortiz will be chasing the scared fighter chicken floyd all the way from round 1 to round 12 but will ultimately gassed out...chicken floyd wins by a boring unanimous decision...

Ortiz Has The Right Mindset; NOW BACK IT UP! A StreetFight!

I hope Ortiz fights the fight of his life. Puts pressure on Mayweather, roughs him up, hurts him, cuts him, scares him, then knocks Mayweather out. Floyd will seek to move, throw combinations, stay out of harms way, counter punch, jab, jab, jab. Ortiz needs to fight like a Roberto Duran or a Julio Cesar Chavez did in their primes. Watch how Duran took it to Ray Leonard in their first fight. Watch how Chavez hunted down Meldrick Taylor. Go watch Hagler take out Hearns! Floyd needs to be hit from EVERY angle, and hit with bad intentions. Head butt Floyd. Hit Floyd low. Mock Floyd, laugh at Floyd. Turn it into a street fight, and give him a beat down like he's never had. You need to be busy, ACTIVE in the ring. Floyd hates getting hit, and does not take punches well; just ask Oscar, Mosley, Judah. DO NOT become a Devon Alexander, a Zab Judah, and Joshua Clottey, and get the biggest fight of your life, step in the ring and throw one punch a round and lay down. IT'S MEXICO INDEPENDENCE DAY! If Ortiz knocks out Floyds, there will be $50,000,000 in potential purses waiting for Ortiz' future. Stay on Floyd and mug him EVERY SINGLE ROUND. Do not try taking him out with one punch or wait till the late rounds. NOBODY is giving Ortiz a chance, but I have been predicting Ortiz to shock the world and knockout Floyd, and I'm convinced it's VERY LIKELY! Duran vs Leonard I. Chavez vs Taylor. Hagler vs. Hearns. Ortiz vs Mayweather. REFUSE TO LOSE... LEAVE IT ALL IN THE RING!!!

It doesn't matter if Floyd has brittle hands, because he'll just shoot up more Xylocane in his system. Brittle hands are side effects of doing steroids. That's why he has to take 1 year or 2 of vacation to rid his body of any PED's so that he won't get caught cheating when his active versus being retired. Dumb-Ass *****s!
