That being said I definitely think Dawson is getting knocked down once or twice.
Pascal who is a harder puncher than Hopkins couldn't knock down Dawson, and Pascal landed more punches on Dawson than he did on Hopkins. As a matter fact Pascal got Hopkins in trouble from time to time.

I think it's the other way around, with Dawson's speed and work-rate you might see Hopkins get knocked down once or twice.

I'm buying this PPV. Why? I don't know. Fight will probably be boring, but the undercard does look decent and when it comes down to it the main even is very intriguing.

It seems like the undercard is stacked in the Don King tradition. I'll probably break down and buy it like a true degenerate.

So, while many people b!tch and moan about PPV's, rightfully so most of the time, in cases like this PPV is the only way to make certain fights happen. If HBO didn't invest all their damn money in bradley & alexander, this fight would have been on regular HBO. But because HBO poorly invests in fighters with no fanbases, things like this happen. It's unfortunate, but on the positive note Ross Greenburg is gone now and hopefully HBO will do a better job spending money in 2013.
Yeah pretty much it, HBO blew its wad and a bunch of duds trying to make stars out of ppl who didn't have much potential to become one.

Its interesting to note that this is finally catching on with people after years of everyone either ignoring it, or denying that hbo was holding the sport hostage.

Better late than never I guess.

They wouldn't be able to if the sport was run like almost every other sport, I mean it for the most part still operates the way it did 100 years ago.....every outdated and thus is floundering in the U.S at least.

It is not like B-Hop-Dawson is expected to be a killer scrap, I would rather pay the 60 bucks watch the PPV then have to hear people bitch about why HBO wasted money on a fight that was never likely to create fireworks.

Cheap price for that if you ask me~ I can just enjoy my tactical boxing match in peace.

Partly true, but they have the kind of budget that could make a difference if they actually wanted to make top fights on a regular basis.

                  Like they used to.

It seems like they try to but are just incompetent and don't know much about boxing and who is actually a good fighter so they put their eggs in poorly constructed baskets that fall apart.

Dawson's speed is the only thing I see bothering BHop. The kid doesn't like pressure too much these days and his chin isn't the greatest. I think Dawson is one hell of a fighter and is superior to Pascal, but he's showing flaws in his last few fights that BHop will take great advantage of. You can't just use punch stats for your argument, because Pascal was beating on Dawson's arms all day and landing partially on the ear. Pascal's timing wasn't good enough to catch Dawson unprepared. The only reason he was able to bother BHop was because of how unorthodox he was. Against Hopkins, Dawson will stop to plant his feet, and find something he hasn't seen much of, and that's a perfectly timed right hand. Something Pascal hasn't quite gotten the hang of yet, and that's what I believe will sit Dawson down. The same kind that sat Pascal down a few times in their 2nd fight.
