Agreed, Hearns is significantly better than anyone Hopkins has faced, and he has several advantages over Hopkins, I can only see a close fight either way, no one is getting stopped.

He went 14 rounds with a more dangerous puncher than any of DLHs opponents and exhaustion was a factor. Barkley and Hagler are also bigger punchers than anyone DLH faced.

At 154 who is his best win what was his biggest fight, Duran how does he compare.

At 160 he lost his biggest fight, then he started dropping upsets to guys like Barkley.

I know all about Hearns~ Motor City Cobra for life but he is beatable.
Did you quote the wrong person? Because you ignored most of my rather short post and started flapping on about Hearns at MW. Again, the one fight Hearns lost below MW was to a man far superior to anyone DLH faced. And Hearns was ahead in that fight over 12 rounds, which is the distance we're talking about here.

So yes, Hearns seems virtually unbeatable at 147 and 154 over 12 rounds because he outpointed SRL and brutally knocked out Duran (who would later go on to last 15 rounds with Hagler) early. And he'd certainly be favored over Mosley, Trinidad, Mayweather and Pacquiao at those weights.

Being ahead after twelve rounds of a 15 round fight is not the same as winning a twelve round fight, that is pretty much writing fiction. Meaningless

In my first post I said he would be favored, but that doesn't mean they are fights he wins or that they are not risky for him.

Follow your own advice, you responded to me so you should understand my position first before saying ****** **** .

So what he knocked out Duran and Duran went the distance with Hagler, what does that mean. It means you don't base your opinion off how a guy specifically does against one guy you look at how he fights and the weaknesses he has.

Hearns has obvious weakness inside his range and little defense outside of hanging on.

He also beat Benitez who easily beat Duran at 154. His KO's over Roldan and Shuler at 160 were impressive no matter how you view it.

With that said, no he was not invincible. But I don't see any of today's(or recent) fighters at 147 beating him there.

Mosley isn't getting knocked out by Hearns.

He either knocks Hearns out, or he gets his turned inside out for 12.

I'd favor the former. I love Hearns but if he catches one of those MMA punches, it's over. If Mosley fights Hearns like he did Margarito, it's over. Big to the body, then big up top, don-dada.

The big factor there is that Hearns is not Margarito in terms of skills or style. Different fighters bring different results. Mosley has not beaten anybody at 147 to convince me that he beats Hearns.

And If Vernon Forrest could hurt Mosley you better believe that Hearns could.

I'd favour Hearns over them all. I think Hopkins stands the best chance (Hearns was a former WW afterall - go figure)
But still my money would be on da Hitman.

I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up, yea that is his other best win at 154, but it was much less decisive than the Druan win which is pretty much the win Hearns is known for (along with his big loses in great fights).

Yea he lit both those guys up, but to me those guy are a cut below the guys I was saying would be able to give Hearns a real challenge and possibly win. More than likely 154 or below Hearns will beat anyone that is not top shelf, most likely in impressive fashion.

The guys I listed I don't consider gimmee's for him, and would consider putting money on all of them for the right price (over +200), I have no issue with Hearns being the betting favorite but that doesn't mean he is winning.

Why not? Hearns KOed Duran, who had at least as good a beard as Mosley.
