Actually it won't matter if Floyd-Pac don't happen in this lifetime.

But IMO what Floyd needs is that war of a fight which will define him in some aspect and he'll get some respect in return.

Who knows maybe Ortiz can bring it suprisingly, tho it's very remote.

Dude's a hell of a great boxer, but he needs a career-defining moment to at least solidify that status.
But Floyd said he's greater than Ali

      I see

I LOL'd at someone saying Floyd was already tested against Baldomir.

Hell I'd wish he would just destroy someone while taunting 'What's my name?!' that sort of thing. That would make a lot of people hate him more

Yeah but instead he chose to have a maniacal pillow fight.

Martinez vs Mayweather at 154 would be a classic, sadly Floyd is not willing to try to enhance his legacy any further.

It would be the first time in his career he would be the strong favorite before the fight.
But who knows maybe he would be the favorite if he ever took the fight.

It's not what he meant Al.

It's just that Floyd is really that good, yeah he makes opponents look ridiculous coz he really is that good.

But I'm sure ther'll come a time when Floyd seemed vulnerable, where nothing seems to go right with his usual self, where he has to dig so deep coz he gets tagged more often that he did. Then he matches that of his opponent by going toe-to-toe. That's what we want to see.

Don't you wanna see that too? How Floyd can overcome those? It can be interesting ain't it?

It's not that far fetched to think what if Floyd has to undergo that, coz we've seen no one in his resume close that can bring it (only JLC perhaps).

I do agree that Mayweather could use a career defining performance against an opponent that pushes harder then anyone ever has. I honestly think Hatton pushed Mayweather out of his comfort zone for the first part of that fight until Mayweather's accuracy took it's toll and broke him down. Even then Mayweather still worked at his usual pace and go the job done.

But honestly, the fact no one has ever given Mayweather that great war isn't Mayweather's fault, he's one of the hardest working men in the sport before a fight, and one of the smartest inside the ring. Someone needs to step up to his level, study him and come with the best possible gameplan.

Ortiz will do well, better then some give him credit for, but I think it will be Pacquiao that truly tests Mayweather's greatness...If & when that fight happens.

He could have had career defining fights/wars against the likes of Cotto, Margarito and Pacquiao, but he chose not to take them.

Floyd will take an easy fight over a tough one everyday of the week.

Great boxers of the past were not interested in taking the easy road, they wanted to test themselves against the best out there and took the tough fights because they relished the challenge.
