I've watched nearly all of Floyd's fights and I can tell you he HAS faced adversity. He's just so talented that he never loses control of a fight and lets it turn into a war. He's able to adjust and set the pacing every time he fights!
I think this is a concept some fail to understand, and just as a champion can show their true mettle by overcoming adversity they show it as well by avoiding it. Wanting to see someone beaten and bloodied really misses the point of what boxing is supposed to be about, the aim is to hit and not get hit.

Sometimes fighters are so good they make their closest competitor look bad.

I'm with you on the flawed logic, but you're wrong about Oscar outselling Floyd easy.

Floyd doesn't get enough credit for their fight; he sold his ass off. Made him the star he is today. Since then, he's averaged more buys than a prime DLH did. Oscar's previous high was 1.4MM, I've never understood how he got most of the credit for the 2.4MM he did with Floyd. His fight before that one did 925K.

Their only common PPV opponent was Mosley and Floyd/Shane sold much more than Oscar/Shane, just like Floyd/Manny will sell much more than Oscar/Manny, and likely more than Oscar/Floyd.

As far as the thread, you're basically saying defensive fighters can't be ATG's. It isn't Floyd's fault, nor is it Pernell or Pep's fault that no one could hit them.
