and the scary thing is Roy hasn't even reached his prime yet!
I bet he could rock Vitali if he really wanted to!

Floyd at 130 was lightening, What made Roy so impressive was that he is naturally bigger - the speed for his size was amazing.

I think if you put them side by side in their primes Mayweather would be quicker - smaller guys are usually quicker anyway so its nothing against Roy.
      ****in idiot...

roy's hands are faster than floyd even now

What was the point in a comment like that? Does it make you feel big and strong sitting behind your computer screen insulting people for their opinions? Your mum must be very proud.

And for the record, Roy's hands are not faster than Floyd's now and you know it, even die hard RJJ fans know it. You make yourself look like a clown twice in one post, well done!

Roy was faster and just a freak of nature. Floyd has the higher ring IQ and is the better technician. I always hated when Roy talked down on Floyd, or vice versa.
Floyd doesn't have a higher ring IQ than Roy

There's no question about the speed of Roy Jones Jr., he's in a class by himself in that department. But his boxing style relied heavily on his reflexes to pull everything off with astonishing swiftness. He wasn't really all that good of a boxer, its more his speed allowed him to flagrantly disregard the orthodoxy of boxing's fundamentals. In many ways he created his own rules when he laced up a pair of gloves.

He was faster than Mayweather but not nearly as smart. Mayweather isn't just fast for the sake of being fast, he's quick and accurate. Roy would throw clusters of punches at his opponents, while Mayweather is much more economical with his. Speed that's disciplined trumps raw quickness eventually. Look at what happened to Roy when he slowed down, he didn't have enough defensive technique to keep himself out of harms way, so he just got pummeled.

I would say P4P Roy has the faster hands.

The man had INSANE speed. Watching him live was jaw dropping at times.
