Whether or not Jones goes on to big things or not, a lot of people thought he lost so he got straight back in there and proved that he was the better fighter.
That's worth something because, regardless of what excuses they may have, Vanes never rematched Ouma, Lara never rematched Molina, Witter never rematched Kotelnik, Matthysse never rematched Harris, Maidana never rematched Morales, Fury waited a while before rematching McDermott etc.
There are of course several world title fights which have had controversial outcomes, some had rematches and some didn't, but when you're a prospect on the way up, against a guy brought in to lose, it's very easy to move on, safe in the knowledge that your powerful promoter and the network backing you will do their best to ensure people forget about it.
