I was cool with the 8 original weight divisions

8 divisions is enough.

you don't need a division for every 4-5 lbs.

every 8 or more lbs. is good.

The term boxer puncher is normally used to describe someone with incomplete boxing skills. To fight a complete boxer you cant expect to win by not matching them in skills but by making up for it with pubching power...not when that fighter has a good chin and defense anyway.

According to you manny is also a boxer-puncher just like Marquez, we all remember Marquez getting taken to school by the boxer, Floyd, hard.

Marquez has developed into a boxer-punch in the last few year, he has been a pure-boxer for most of his career.

The boxer-puncher has power advantage over the pure boxer, but because Marquez was a career feather who had stepped up 3 divisions in just over a year, the power edge was not his.

I was talking about matchups between boxers and boxer punchers..just because you ar.e a boxer does not mean you dont have a hard punch its your technical abilities that make you a boxer.

Ali also beat frazier twice..and also beat many boxer punchers.
SRL beat Hearns one of the best boxer punchers of all time.
SRR was the definition of a boxer! Just because you are powerful does not mean you arent a boxer.


Shane mosley is a boxer puncher for example..what happened when he faced forrest and floyd, both boxers?

And a pressure fighter is the key to beating a boxer and vice versa.

If a guy like Mayorga can beat a pure boxer like Vernon Forrest twice!.....then anything can happen in boxing. There is no one style that will always beat another style.

Forrest is a boxer-puncher and Maryorga is a slugger.

pac is a volume ambush fighter not a boxer puncher.........

kendall holt is a "boxer puncher"

volume ambush fighters are calzaghie, khan, pac.

the way to beat pac is good legs, good head movement, good counter punching. this takes the volume away & they find themselves following you not throwing much of any punches (while being outpointed & outboxed) pac was doing this even in the mosley bout (walking in & not throwing) it's just that mosley wasn't quick enough to catch pac while he was walking in throwing less & less punches. mayweather is a TOTALLY different creature in this regard & will be licking his chops at the opportunities to counter pac.

Calzaghe could be seen as a swarmer.

Khan is a boxer-puncher, Khan had real trouble with Maidana and lost to Prescott. Sluggers beat boxer punchers.

Pacquiao is a boxer puncher.
