    Nice try... in other words he was willing to get in the ring with 2 guys who nearly took his head off but was NOT willing to fight someone who he beat for about 20 million dollars more.......

      People call lennox lewis a lion?

      His best wins were against 215 pound Holyfield.

      Sorry but beating Grant, Botha, and Akinwande as you are "Peaking" doesnt count as lionlike.

      He beat guys EXACTLY the same way the klitchkos do.

      By being six inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than anyone they usually fight.

      Yes...I said usually, so please dont trot out a list of the 6'6 opponents. I get it.

        Lennox knew he was past his prime and wanted to leave on top. No harm in that, only Klitlickers are still butt hurt about it. Vitali had his chance.

            Lennox solidified his legacy in 2001 after avenging all losses. Beating Vitali in his final fight was just the cherry on the sundae.

            What a great legacy indeed Joe C.... let's see.. where do i begin.. LET'S START with THE stuff Vitali Klitschko wouldn't be caught dead doing.. for starters... Vitali would never EVER have a fight waived off TWICE by the referee after being caught with one single shot.

            Vitali also would never give up his belts TWICE within less than a year to avoid fighting Chris Byrd & John Ruiz RESpectively because he thought he was above them.. there title durations combined lasted as long as Lennox' reigns.. clear disrespect to the sport & the championships..& LAST but not least Vitali wouldn't be caught dead drifting within' more or less than 5 lbs of his ideal fighting shape... again TWICE.. Lennox Lewis was caught disrespecting his opponent & then inexplicably using it as an excuse for atrocious performance.

            Now I ask Joe C.. WHO'S BEEN the more respectful 3 time champion here Lennox or Vitali. Vitali would rather quit than stink out the joint as evidenced with the Byrd stoppage.. he has more respect for himself. He'd rather kick Hasim RAHman's a$ s AT 100% Capacity than to let him take advantage of him while injured.. it's called pride & self respect.. No injuries or cuts for Vitali Klitschko & he's easily the first 50 - 0 HEAVYWEIGHT fighter in history... kapish!

              Again.... let's glorify Lennox for disrespecting his opponent & the profession that has made him millions

              think about it like this, you have a fight lined up against Paulie Malignaggi right? then last minute, once it's too late to reschedule anything you find out Manny Pacquiao is your last minute replacement, can you imagine how hard that has to be to adjust to?

              This excuse is a 50/50 proposition. Klitschko went from Boswell to Lewis.. Lewis went from Johnson to Klitschko.. Isn't it the champion's precedent to set an example here.. yet it was the challenger who showed MORE respect for his profession & his opponent by coming in supreme physical condition AS ALWAYS.

              Vitali is a Boxing legend too and Lennox went into a fight against him without even a fourth of the conditioning he needed, he looked overweight and all he was completely under trained for Vitali and even still, off just pure natural fighting ability and experience he was able to beat Vitali into a bloody pulp

              sEE above for the same exact excuse necessary to write off a poor performance.. again let's give Lennox a pat on the back & a free pass for not being a professional & taking his profession seriously at all times

              my question to you is this, if an under trained and out of shape Lennox Lewis can huff and puff his way into a 6th round TKO what do you think will happen when Lewis actually DOES train seriously and comes in tip top shape ready for that kind of fight against someone like Vitali, what do you think he will do when this time he could prepare for Vitali and actually formulate something solid and not be completely surprised by him

              So you think.. Vitali Outboxed him & Outslugged him easily due to Lennox b eing ill prepared.. old & or out of shape? So BASICALLY Vitali being the ONLY opponent ever to do this consistently throughout the course of a fight vs Lennox is just an aberration... you also think that Vitali nearly winning 200 of the 209 rds he's ever fought also is an aberration.. S o let's just shave 5 measly lbs off of Lewis.. give him 3 or 5 yrs less on this earth & 5 more weeks to study Vitali & he'll have a clue on how to beat him to the punch.. outland him & throw more punches than him....very logical analogy here.

              Lewis retired because he is actually smart enough to know when it's time. to us it may have seemed abrupt but honestly that's usually when the right time is to call it quits, when people don't want it to happen most that's usually when fighters should walk away the most, Haye should be out by next year and Khan says he's out before 30, these are smart guys, Juan Diaz is a smart man you feel me and Lennox Lewis is no different.

              he fought Vitali, had he not fought him and said heck with him I'm out of here then maybe you could say he ducked him and not be attacked for it but in this case he fought him he just knew his body wouldn't let him be 100% in future fights anymore, his will wasn't there anymore and he called it quits which he was right in doing

              Trust me.. Lennox WOULD've ducked.. dodged & weaved his way into RETirement if he knew what Vitali Klitshko was all about BEFORE fighting him. Truth is he thought he was just having breakfast.... he never dreamed in a million years he couldn't finish his breakfast.

                maybe if vitali had won he would have gotten a rematch.

                but no.....he lost. oh well.

                  Here's all you need to know about the great Lennox Lewis & how he compares favorably to the great Vitali Klitschko... both fighters have been in the ring 44 times!

                  VK= 42 W'S - 2 L'S = 95.4 WINNING %
                  LL = 41.5 W's - 2.5 L'S= 94.3 WINNING %

                  VK = 39 KO'S IN 44 BOUTS = 88.64% (HEAVYWEIGHT RECORD)
                  LL = 32 KO'S IN 44 BOUTS = 72.72 % (TOP 25-30 AT BEST)

                  VK = 209 RDS FOUGHT.... NEARLY 200 RDS WON (BOXING RECORD) 95% RATIO
                  LL = 225 RDS FOUGHT... Lennox lost at least 60 rds (including 4RDS to Klitschko TOP 500-1000))70% RATIO

                  WHEN VK WINS IT'S 93% OF THE TIME BY KO (UNOFFOCIAL HEAVYWEIGHT RECORD BUT MOST LIKELY HELD BY HIM)

                  WHEN LL WINS IT'S 78% OF THE TIME BY KO (TOP 25-30 AT BEST)

                  Now I aSK who's been the more dominant fighter.. they both have won a portion of the 4 major belts 3 different times.... competition is in the eye of the beholder.. Numbers don't lie & neither do I>>>> THE END!

                      That's as lame & predictable an answer as your left hook has been recently.
