All I had to read was (And I'm a big Klitschko fan too) To know your exact diagnosis.. Thanks for confusing me with some others. I mostly write about the facts & numbers concerning Vitali Klitschko unprecedented domination. I usually leave Lennox out of it but realize that it spurs the discussion on how his protectors try to protect his precious legacy & bogus W over his successor & more dominant adversary.
Proof ... Lennox Lewis is Anything But A Lion.....

You can't say that Vitali won the Fight, because Championship Fights don't go 6 rounds. You can say Vitali won the majority of the FIRST 6 ROUNDS, Sure, but you can't say he won because the fight didn't get to end of the 12th, nor at any point did anyone rule Lennox unable to continue.
In Contrast, You CAN say Lennox won the fight, because in the 4th, he caused the cut that would lead to the stoppage 2 rounds later, with a punch.
Who's fault was it that Vitali got hit with that punch?
Someone mentioned the 10 days Vitali had to prepare. Lennox was already in Camp, sure, but he only had 10 days to prepare for Vitali's style.
If Vitali's worth his salt (He is, he's proven as much) he would've been in the gym preparing for A fight, seeing as his last one was 7 months prior.
I think it was Lampley who said Lennox came in at his absoloute Heaviest weight ever for this fight.Comment

He was basically semi-retired before he even fought Vitali with 377 days of inactivity. Not because of injury, or guys pulling out, but because he was genuinely complacent after beating Tyson. How coincidential that Lennox retires after facing the best fighter he ever fought. Why Didn't he retire after slaying the remnants of Iron Mike? No one would've said a word. Truth is he thought Vitali was the breakfast portion of his diet... we now know he couldn't digest that meal & never ordered it again despite it being plastered all over the menu.
He was stripped of his IBF title during this time, and the only reason he got out of bed to defend the WBC was because that was the last belt he had left.
Lennox solidified his legacy in 2001 after avenging all losses. Beating Vitali in his final fight was just the cherry on the sundae.

Lennox Lewis was not afraid of anyone and that includes Vitali. what you fail to realize was that Vitali Klitschko was a late replacement for Kirk Johnson, based on how Lennox performed against Vitali you can tell he didn't train too hard for Johnson.
think about it like this, you have a fight lined up against Paulie Malignaggi right? then last minute, once it's too late to reschedule anything you find out Manny Pacquiao is your last minute replacement, can you imagine how hard that has to be to adjust to?
Vitali is a Boxing legend too and Lennox went into a fight against him without even a fourth of the conditioning he needed, he looked overweight and all he was completely under trained for Vitali and even still, off just pure natural fighting ability and experience he was able to beat Vitali into a bloody pulp
my question to you is this, if an under trained and out of shape Lennox Lewis can huff and puff his way into a 6th round TKO what do you think will happen when Lewis actually DOES train seriously and comes in tip top shape ready for that kind of fight against someone like Vitali, what do you think he will do when this time he could prepare for Vitali and actually formulate something solid and not be completely surprised by him
Lewis retired because he is actually smart enough to know when it's time. to us it may have seemed abrupt but honestly that's usually when the right time is to call it quits, when people don't want it to happen most that's usually when fighters should walk away the most, Haye should be out by next year and Khan says he's out before 30, these are smart guys, Juan Diaz is a smart man you feel me and Lennox Lewis is no different.
he fought Vitali, had he not fought him and said heck with him I'm out of here then maybe you could say he ducked him and not be attacked for it but in this case he fought him he just knew his body wouldn't let him be 100% in future fights anymore, his will wasn't there anymore and he called it quits which he was right in doingComment

You explained it yourself he rematched two fighters who KOd him but didn't rematch a fighter he KOd.Comment

Ok... i appreciate your logic... Yes it'S Vitali's fault for getting caught with the cut inducing punch no matter how shady it was delivered while Vitali's arm was being held in a clinch. The preparation for each other WAS EXACTLY THE same for both fighters.. one had Kirk Johnson as an opponent whikle the other had Cedric Boswell as the opponent on the undercard... so it's a wash & i NEVER subscribed to these bogus preparation advantages.. truth be told Klitschko was the more determined & focused fighter... trained better & got in better shape.. the fact that he's penalised because he came in shape & Lennox didn't is a travesty.. LENNOX DUTY AS fighter is to come into the fight prepared.. the fact he's absolved & given a pass for this is blasthemy.

As for Lennox.. NOt being counted out... he was as finished or more than Vitali.. AFTERall It was Klitschko WHO LANDED 60 MORE punches on him... just because his appearance wasn't as cosmetic as Vitali's doesn't mean he wasn't as physically depleted.. he basically had NOTHING left after throwing the kitchen sink at Vitali & couldn't get him out of there.. why didn't the dr. go check him out to see if he was fit to keep on fighting as he plopped down on his stool.. completely exhausted... he got a free ride & a gift w because of cosmetics.. it's him that was being tattooed around the ring for 6 rds...he was just as or more depleted.. he had a broken nose & his face was completely swollen but obviousli the Klitschko cut dwarfs all else.. i'll never believe in 100 years Lewis was the victor that night.. Klitschko was the better fighter that night.. outslugged Lennox...
Outlanded & OUTTHREW him in EVERY SINGLE RD.. got the better of all or most of the exchanges.. had Lennox ABOUT TO GO IN THE second rd.. only the bell & MANNY's dirty instructions saved him.. most of the time just like his quittage vs Byrd... a fighter that's lost is being dominated.. in both losses.. Klitschko was doing the dominating & that's all there is to it.. so let's Not EQUATE these losses as the norm type of stoppages when both losses were exceptions to the rule.Last edited by jimmy1569; 08-16-2011, 10:08 PM.Comment
