By far Floyd. I mean Hopkins has got in there with some guys he probably shouldn't have. Floyd so far hasn't gotten in there with nearly anyone that had a chance against him. So IMO you have to give it to Floyd by a wide margin. Not that he's fought bad fighters, he just really understands which matchups he can readily exploit.

Hopkins is smart in fighting rough and old school, he's a rough fighter who knows what to do, knows how to play dirty and get away with it, he can also fight clean and beat you with accuracy. Mayweather's dirty tricks is underrated, but his ring awareness is better than Hopkins'. Floyd would take advantage of you complaining to the ref/talking in a heartbeat[Gatti/Mosley], Hopkins would let you slide. They both are low workrate fighters, who rely more on accuracy and outboxing their opponent. Problem is with Hopkins, when he can't outbox you, he will try to cop out by faking lowblows and complaining as much as he can about anything. We have yet to see Floyd trying to cop-out of a fight when the going gets tough[Castillo I, Judah round 4, Mosley round 2, Corley] instead of faking low blows or blows to the back of the head, Floyd stays focused and adjusts to win the rest of the fight and decision you. Hopkins was looking for copouts against Calzaghe, and looking for free points against a shot Roy Jones. Something I don't think we'll see Floyd doing.
Not a knock on Hopkins, just something I have observed.

Now this one is actually open for debate unlike the Floyd/Pac ring intelligence thread earlier.
In this one its really really fuc&ing close. Both are extremely intelligent but I have to go with Floyd by a little bit but Hopkins is the **** though as well.

i say floyd for the fact that dude literally breaks you down...he uses every second of every round against his opponent...it doesn't take but 6 or 7 rounds before he has his opponent feeling hopeless and simply surviving...i've seen b-hop do similar...but sometimes he rally's late...other times he is too comfortable or still trying to figure as sometimes his opponents can adjust against his plan...i've never seen that with floyd...well maybe one fight...but that was with chop chop and it was more of flod getting careless and chop chop taking the advantage to strike...
