i tell it how it is. if you look at what cotto has done and compare that to ortiz. even margarito was a 3 x welterweight champ. these guys have done much more than ortiz. not to many people were calling for mayweather vs ortiz.

I will disgree for this reason. Vic defeated an undefeated (but ovverated IMO) champion his 1st fight at ww. Cotto 1st ww fight was a not too good performance against Jennings if I am correct. If making an even comparison, Ortiz is better.

Marg made a much stronger case than Ortiz no question. For Marg he did have wins over 6 heads and hercules (last name) and some other good but not great ww wins. But he also lost to Daniel Santos. If not for top ran affiliation is he really in the mix to fight the lineal champ?

We can and we have before. I just hate that "not fighting floyd" is used as a variable to evaluate some guys. IAs always agree or disagree I respect your posts.

If Berto would´ve won, he would be facing Mayweather...when he faces Paquiao is for unification of all titles...& P4P King

margarito took his throne and whilst not as many people were calling for margarito vs mayweather, that was the best fight out there at 147 at the time.

id of expected floyd to beat them both, but the point is he wouldnt fight them but as soon as ortiz has 1 fight at the weight he will fight him?
See but that's the thing...Floyd wasn't gonna just take the fight cause that was the best person...We know this as boxing fans..i mean as purest it's wrong to think he retired when he coulda fought the best by default...but they really werent in any class of his......He wasn't caring about the top of the sport..he wanted $$$$ it was a busniess to him.....He just did Oscar Numbers, why would he fight guys that not too many people knew of? No one cared for these guys except for guys like us, that knew this sport.......

Mayweather was gonna fight the winner of Berto/Ortiz....He was looking for a fresh young fighter...he was saying it before the fight in his interviews...And he's promoting a fight, where he's fighting a guy that's a "champ" he's not suppose to say he's the best in the division? It's called promotion...you know that thing u do before a fight...

Next thing you know your gonna tell me Marquez was too small to fight floyd.

ODH didn't offer him more money. Besides, was a rematch really needed. You honestly thought ODH won or was close? Not judges score, your opinion watching the fight.
