And Margarito, come on....everyone saw him as just a prize figther that can make it entertaining..you know this though....If you honestly believe these two guys were the "best" then you should be wearing a Red Nose, and over sized shoes.
there was quite a few fans calling for cotto vs mayweather if i remember correctly. he was considered the best welterweight when floyd "retired". being undefeated added alot of interest aswell.

margarito took his throne and whilst not as many people were calling for margarito vs mayweather, that was the best fight out there at 147 at the time.

id of expected floyd to beat them both, but the point is he wouldnt fight them but as soon as ortiz has 1 fight at the weight he will fight him?

I remember Floyd laughing at the Berto-Ortiz fight. He saw how Berto was able to catch him and how wide Ortiz punches....counter city. This will be a fight where Ortiz does well in rds 1-3, then he loses every round after that because he gets countered and he will tire out.

Marg and cotto. You are IMO overrating them.

The last person Floyd actually stood and traded with was Josie Harris and that was at 2 a.m. when she was asleep. Floyd aint gonna trade with Ortiz you can belleee dat
Did Floyd run against SSM? Pac ran from SSM for 2 years and only fought him after seeing he was going down hill fast. He outright ducked him! Moronic comments like the above ones are typical of Pac worshipers/Floyd haters. With a name like check hook I would think you would be a fan of his.

fair enough, but im not. both those guys were better opponents at the time than ortiz is now. i also said id expect mayweather to beat them.

I think you overrate them only because it makes the "duck" narrative more plausible. Maybe not you, but too many people overrate fighter on the premise that " floyd didn't fight them" as opposed to there record and opponents.

Tell me, who is a higher ranked welterweight than Ortiz? Pacquiao keeps using the afraid of needles excuse to duck Floyd, so other than him, its Ortiz.

At 147 Ortiz is much stronger and a whole different fighter than at 140. Pac could have fought him but instead will fight a 38 yr old lightweight that is fading, and was totally shutout and embarrassed by Floyd. Ask JMM who he thinks is pfp #1, and he has said Floyd with no hesitation.

People keep talking Martinez, but last I checked he was at 160. Too big for Floyd or Pac unless he drops to 147.
