The old De La Hoya never came back out after the Trinidad fight he feels accomplished and thats that.

I give props to oscar for tying to fight bernard, but i think if i was his trainer i would have made him Box not fight Bernard.

I would have told him to move around the whole night throw quick combinations even if it didnt hit all of them. And once in a while throw some power punches that at least would have hit Bernard anywhere.

I think this way the judges would have given him a Split decision.

But in the end he tried to do the imposibble and beat a giant.

i didnt know Bernard was that bigger than Oscar until the ring instructions, Bernard looked huge compared to Oscar. I remember i was all pumped for the fight talking smack but when the ring intructions began and i saw the size deference i was like "wow" and got real quite

I think he did farely well given the circumstances but he did look a little slower than normal and maybe he is just aging faster than most his age due to the level of competition he has been facing already for so many years....At least he made it this far look at Vargas he is already shot looking and is not even 29....I think DLH was guy shy for good reason against B-Hop he fought that way anyway.

All in all he blows up and bloats up between fights and than works his ass off to get down to weight or into shape, and those extreme up and downs to the body will F'up your stamina and all around focus...But no matter what Oscar was going to lose that fight, he can't even fight past 5 rounds with out poopin out..
