Ortiz is a good boxer, not top notch.

Ricky Hatton was a bigger threat to Floyd that Ortiz is now.

Pacquaio and Martinez being the top two p4p fighters, no, but that isn't a large knock against him. Also Martinez is a middleweight atm.

Cotto/Marg/Willams of 08? He might be at that level now, if he's not there, he is close. Khan is a better fighter but less experienced than Ortiz atm.

Hatton was not a bigger threat stylistically. Hatton never had the tools to threaten Floyd, all he has was his physical strength and swarming style. Ortiz has KO power, good speed, good skills, and is a southpaw. He also is looking as physically imposing as Hatton was.

Can you find better fighters from different times and weight classes than Ortiz? Yeah, but right now at 147 he is not only the best option available, but he is overall an unusually bold pick by Floyd.

I dont agree with Koki Kameda being better than victor ortiz. Koki kameda has been protected with the exception of 2 fighters. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (Future HOF'mer) and Daisuke Naito. When he fought pongsaklek he got his ass whupped. His management went back to fighting no hopers IMO. Ortiz has fought better opposition.
