He did hold on to david a few times which saved his life but thats a part of smart boxing. David tua started getting into his groove after round 7 which was a ashame unfortunetly. I hope they do have another 3rd fight for this if barret cant find anything, david tua will def win the 3rd one by ko if it happens after watching that last round. David has to take more risks and get in there more, hes a tank and all he needs is that 1 good shot to *** his opponent. Both fighters did well
it's so weird that tua gets so apprehensive in fights.

the guy has a granite chin (or did)

if tua was a pressure type fighter , he'd have done better in his career. not that he didn't have a good career.

Barrett is good. This explains why David Haye made sure Barrett had no food when he came to London for a fight.Starving and lack of sleep reduced Barrett's chances.David wouldnt have done that if he wasnt threatened. On another hand Tua's now crap

I noticed in this fight he backed up a lot in the first half, did you notice it was more than normal?

After round six, though, Tua picked it up and got more comfortable -- Barrett started to hold and should have been penalized for it (he did that in their first fight as well). Tua landed the cleaner and more effective shots for the second half of the fight and then in the last two rounds rocked Barrett hard. Barrett was almost out and saved by the bell in round 11, and he was rocked hard and put down in round 12.

Watching the replay, I still don't know how Barrett got up from that knockdown. It was a flush, hard shot and his eyes were rolling in his head. Almost makes me believe in the Jesus stuff Monte talked about after the match.

I had Tua edgeing it 114-113 with the 10-8 final round. I don't think Tua's conditioning hurt him, because he was strong at the end of the fight. He just took too long to adjust to what Barrett was doing. Seems like he didn't have enough good sparring partners.

I think he deserves another shot at it, but Barrett sounds like he wants to enter the WWE.
I blame Tua for the first 6 rounds and i blame him for not finishing Barett after the knockdown. He could have easily finished him. Any B Level heavyweight would have stopped Barrett but Tua started to late and couldnt finish him in the 12. Verry disapointing. 2 shot fighters but the lesser shot fighter won. At least it was verry exciting at the end. It looked like Tua had not sparred at all for that fight but maybe he couldnt pay sparring partners.

Tough he had a good record, Tua never impressed me, nor most fans...too one-dimensional and no flair...best he retires...I'll remember him for his chin, not his minimal ability...

You're being a little hard on the guy I think, He had a decent career, he just couldn't ever come up with the big wins.

My second best ever post in NSB has again been deleted. This was an essay, not so much a thesis, but I'm still pissed. What's with this deleting of serious, important, possibly-for-some-life-changing posts?
