  • the underestimating of berto is weird to me. he lost to ortiz, but the ortiz fight was a slugfest. berto makes all his fights slugfests. he gets into a slugfest with khan and khan doesnt win. khan has never proved he could outbox a highlevel power puncher all 12 rounds. until i see that, i will continue to believe berto is more than game for this fight.

berto is no defensive wiz, hes not skilled technician, but he does have speed, he does have power and his uppers are probably better than anyone else around his weight class. there are things he does well and the things he does well will help him in a fight against khan. i dont think khan loses a ud but if berto makes it a berto type fight, theres no way i think khan gets out of it. hes no ortiz.

What has Berto done for you to call him a high level power puncher?

What has Berto done for you to think he a top fighter?

he is a high level power puncher. hes definitely world class. and he definitely has power. i dunno what it is with this perception that berto is a bum. berto is a tough fight for most, based purely off of his physical attributes.

I think it's because he's not very good.

Ortiz made that fight a slugfest as much as Berto did, Ortiz was the one moving forward relentlessly, and really Berto got his ass kicked in that fight. It was competitive for six rounds, the knockdown almost ended it, but really Berto won like 3 rounds in that fight. It wasn't the close war people tend to describe it as.

I'm the opposite of you, I don't think Berto is any type of move forward type pressure fighter that would bother Khan. Berto will be there in front of Khan, looking for one punch, eating a ton of punches because he has no defense, and I can't see that working. Berto has never shown he can win at any level besides C or C+ level fighters, if these two fight and Berto won it would be far and away the best win of his career. Not sure I'd say Berto is the best fighter Khan ever beat.

I understand that is your view, just want to know how you have come to this conclusion?

When did you realise this, which fights did you see of Berto's that made you think this guy is a high level power puncher and is world class?

Agree 100%. The only thing is we don't know how Khan will do at 147. It seems 147 was the weight Ortiz should've been at all along. I believe Khan will work well at 147 so I think he beats berto preety easy.

Berto is the new Jermain Taylor. HBO hype and carefully selected judges.

where did this idea that berto waits for one big puch come from??? ive seen berto fight for years and he throws punches. he throws a lot of punches, he doesnt always hit with them, but what happened in the ortiz fight is not normal andre berto. he doesnt just wait for one big shot. it astounds me that ppl think he does.

and i agree berto isnt that great. i think khan is better overall but i think khan is the type of fighter that berto does well against. hes always looked good when he was able to muscle a fighter around. and i very much think he can muscle khan around.

Berto would be in so much trouble against Khan it would be pathetic to watch. He has no defense, little boxing ability, does not pressure, and throws one punch at a time.
Berto has no boxing skills?Watch Berto fight with Steve Forbes and watch Berto`s older fights at 154.He has good boxing skills but he had got drunk off his punching power and felt he can knock everybody out which caused him to abandoned his boxing skills.

That happens to many fighters.I believe hes gonna go back to using his boxing skills cause of what happened in the Ortiz fight.Berto said it himself that he should`nt have brawled.

Khan is not a big puncher Judah just quit. All Berto has to do is Exchange with Khan when Khan Throws single punches or combination's and he`ll put Khan on his ass. Also Berto has to work Khan`s body to take away his speed and legs.

It hard to see how Much Khan has improved cause Judah hardly threw anything and Judah was making Khan miss a-lot.Khan did not look as impressive as some people seem to think in the Judah fight. He showed a-lot of speed but he jumps in with his head sticking out throwing combination's leaving him self open to getting caught.Judah just lacked the confidence to pull the trigger.

Taylor actually beat a world class fighter in Hopkins, what has Berto done?
Taylor just had too many tough fights that ended in brutal KOs. Also had stamina issue but the guy had skills.
