    Something Odd About MAYWEATHER...

The three defining fights of Mayweather's early career:

Genaro Hernandez (RIP): Floyd's first championship (@ 21 yo), caught boxing insiders' eye

Diego Corrales (RIP): Floyd's single most brilliant performance. Launched him onto P4P lists. Made people go "oh ****"

Arturo Gatti (RIP): Floyd's first PPV, and the fight that launched him into the mainstream, setting up the Delahoya fight.

Each of these guys was/IS special to the boxing community. I just find this an eerie coincidence.

I was thinking about this the other day. It's rather uncanny.

And then his NEXT two most important fights:

      Delahoya: Drug problem...Rehab

      Hatton: Drug problem...Rehab

You can't find someone to say a bad word about Chicanito. And both Chico and Gatti had huge hearts.

I wanted to be respectful to those guys. There were all very good fighters who we lost too soon.
