When Pacquiao retires, Khan or Donaire will inherit the crown.

Sorry you said PPV, I was thinking p4p.

Alvarez, Khan are drawing biggish figures at the moment.

To become a PPV star all he has to do was is winning and move up right in weight; nobody expected that Mayweather guy to be box office smash with his style so it possible. He's going to be behind the 8 ball but I like the kid.

If it wasn't for the 24/7 for the ODH fight floyd probably wouldn't be a star.

If ******* fought Ortiz people would be saying "Oh look, ******* fighting another bum coming off a loss who quit against a B level fighter in Maidana, ******* cherry picking mentally weak opponents"

When ***** is fighting Ortiz " Ortiz is #1 Opponent and amazing fighter!! ******* can only wish to fight someone as great as Ortiz"

Probaly but he is and will be until he gets beat; and same can be said for Filipino counterpart.

I mean its a very different avenue to stardom. Most of the "it" guys, Tyson, ODH, SRL, ALi got there through wins/and losses, although in ODH's case he had the young girls from the beginning.

While he was always considered a great boxer and was p4p#1 when he fought ODH, he couldn't move more than 400k ppvs.

these guy s wont be around long enough to be PPV kings. Canelo and khan doesn't have any defense. They will have short term success. After khan fights Prescot he'll be out of the picture. After Canelo fights a slick boxer like Martinez he'll be exposed and out of the picture. Canelo hits hard but his style is very taxing. It wont be long before someone with hand speed and footwork out boxes and embarress Canelo, and Khan fights like an amerture, I promise you he'll be knocked out when he steps up. Prescott is Khans ******nyte. To be a PPV king you have to have something that stands out. Mike tyson was a killer human pitbull, Delahoya was goldmedalist prettyboy that could knock you the **** out,Mayweather has super skills that destroys every style, hes rarely hit in the ring. Russell fights like a pitbull standing right in your face, with the skills simular to mayweather you cant hit him back. Thats very diffrent, that sets him apart from the norm, With time he'll be in the spotlight. Exposure is the key for russell. The same for Mayweather, once the world saw him perform on the big stage it was game over. I know delahoya gave him that oppotunity to be in spotlight, but it was Mayweathers skills that kept him in the spotlight. Canelo and khan is nothing speacial, khan has already been KTFO, and canelo eats 50% punches in every fight.

Whether we like it or not it's going to be Alvarez. He already has the same TV ratings as the Mexican soccer team in Mexico and his TV ratings in the US are really impressive. If he continues to win he's the next ppv king.

Skills don't make you ppv king, it helps, but it's not the entire reason. You have to attract the casual fans and that's something Canelo's manager and promoters have been doing.

Saul is big in mexico but here in the US no one knows who the fucck he is. His stardom will grow if he continues to win , but I dont see anything speacial. Hes just another Cotto. Alvrez has already peaked, we have seen already what he can do, he is nothing speacial, hes slow, mythodical,0 defense, no foot work. If you stand in front of him and let him punch you hes superman, but if you know the ring and you stick and move canelo becomes clark kent, just another guy. You'll see, keep wathcing. 5 years from now if russell stays committed he'll still be undefeated,he'll be bigger and if he carries that punch up with him, he is a starr PPV Block buster hit, just like Mayweather. Im sorry but canelo is not gonna last. Right now if he fought Martinez you'd be able to see more clearly. Martinez would beat him easy, very very easy, maybe even stop him in the middle rounds.
