Mares is a fairly skilled grinder to me. He's strong, throws nice combos (althOugh he used to he better with um) and can overwhelm guys. He's got a ton of heart and will to win.

I dont think that's enuff to beat king kong but that sciatica and a little incojsistency from king kong make me a bit nervous..

To me, mares was able to bully vic a little (vic is a small bw) and tire perez out. Those wojt happej against an agbeko on toP of his game b/c agbeko can comtrol the pace of the fight with his ring generalship amd footwork..

WTF is the winner fighting Moreno not Nonito for bojang? I haven't heard that. I thought Nonito was specifically waiting for the winner of this tourney.
Maybe it's only if Mares wins, but I remember seeing the article on here. Too lazy to find it, but if Mares wins Moreno gets him. Moreno doesn't deserve the winner no matter who it is over Donaire.

I agree for sure after he flat out turned down the donaire fight. Chemito should get the loser or vic d.

But if Mares beats Agbeko, Donaire deserves him far before Moreno does. I know the business isn't fair, and Golden Boy and Top Rank hate each other, but until I saw that article I thought it was a given that Donaire got the bantam tourney winner. If Mares does then Donaire has to wait? For Moreno? Bullsh**.

And it should. Just after mares-donaire if mares wins.

Id love to see moreno-agbeko or moreno-vic d if mares wins....

And for the record, *** a tuneup for donaire. He's fought off a 6-8 month layoff plenty times. They can do this fight in november-dec if the winner isnt too ****** up.

I agree but I just think Goldenboy will make Moreno-Mares whether Mares wins or loses.

The best scenario would be Agbeko to win, fight Donaire.

Mares and Moreno fight, winner fights winner.

If that happens, it will be a sign that Agbeko has slipped or was just not training well enuff. I doubt it will happen, Agbeko is a beast!

Honestly all BS aside, I think you underestimate Mares. I think he's about as a complete fighter as you will find in boxing. He can box, counter punch, brawl and pressure. He throws great combo's and is a tough kid who isn't scarred to see his own blood or let cuts bother him.

I feel if he pressures Agbeko, it will be a tougher fight for him because Agbeko is awkward and likes to pot shot from the outside when you decide to pressure. If he allows Agbeko to come to him, I think it will be an easier fight for him because he can counter very well and his combo's will come into play.
