from the WBA Medical Advisory Committee asking the weight in should be at 4-6 the day before the fight
The loss of water from the body not only dehydrated the body cells but most importantly, it dehydrates the brain cells. When the brain is dehydrated, it is more liable to vibrate in the skull than if it was well hydrated. The shaking of the dehydrated brain in the bony skull can cause severe damage to the brain. Thus a blow to the head can shake the brain causing bleeding which often proves fatal.Comment

ur failing to grasp the fact that there is no way sergio could get to 154 and fight that same day and not be a ****in corpse walking....
my point was that him coming down to 154 same day would probably be as drainign physicaly as coming down to 140 day before...
either i didnt articulate my point properly or u are mentaly challenged( i think its the later)
and when did i ever imply that the old rules were ridiculous? its simple; sergio is just to heavy to fight at 154 same day....
if they do fight it should be at a weight that they are both comfortable at....
plus sergio sould be fighting bigger guys if he wants to be p4p 1Comment

The state of Pennsylvania still does it.
And, it would be great now if they did same day weigh-in. Because, now we have so many weight-class. So now, we really should have same day weigh-in. It would eliminate a lot of crap that people don't like, like catch-weight fights.Comment

did duran beat any of the hw when the rules were same say day weight ins?.....youre putting duran gifs but you dont even know those were the rules for the majority of his carreer.....****en dumbass...exactly....
manny would beat both klit brothers on the same night if they were subjected to the kind of weight cut puga is proposing......
if u wanna go back to the old weigh in system (which i have no problem with).....
then all the 147 guys would be middle weights and pac would hve been a welter since around 2005 when he was fighting at 130.Comment

nothing wrong with same dday weigh ins....
manny and sergio faught it would only be fair tolet the limit be around 170ishComment

How about Pacquiao vs Martinez at 160 in Philadelphia(Pennsylvania still does same day weigh-in) for the MW belt?
Martinez would weigh 160(assuming), Pacquiao 148(assuming). A 12lb disadvantage for Pac. But, he has fought against bigger size disadvantage(Margarito) and Mosley was probably close to the 160 as well. So what would be the issue with this? Plus Martinez might still be somewhat drained weigh-in at 160 same day...When was the last time he has done that?
Would this be OK?Comment
