Thing is Khan went to the olympics at the age of only 17 as britain's SOLE REPRESENTATIVE and this gave him a lot of exposure to the casual fans. Also his first 18 fights were on free TV which helped build his name more. People who dont watch boxing know who amir khan is.

As for cark froch problem was people first heard of him when he was bad mouthing joe calzaghe and that did not really win him any fans at all. But now he's worked hard and hes on sky.

I figured that it must have something to do with Sky. I'm sure once Froch gets the exposure he deserves, his following in the UK will grow accordingly. The UK is lucky to have a fighter like Froch.

Well unfortunately for Froch his first fight on Sky is with Ward and I dont see that ending well for him.

If he manages to win on the other hand....

I agree, I think Ward beats Froch. However, Froch is an excellent fighter and I expect him to give Ward all he can handle.

Wasn't Froch-Johnson on Sky? I think it was.

both hamed and khan were on terrestial tv for their first 15 odd fights

they fought tin cans who made them look amazing

once they got the exposure they needed they went the PPV way

froch is a great boxer but he's just never had any exposure at all

the best thing that ever happened to khan was losing to prescott

he basically went to america- got with GBP and freddie roach

took the big fights and now he's huge

                      True.

Only recently have the UK fans been jumping on the bandwagon since theres not that many to jump on these days for them.
                      False.

Froch is getting more exposure and is gaining more fans, but if he had been promoted properly all along he would've had a huge fanbase by now, it's nothing to do with bandwagon-jumping or number of other boxers, merely awareness. He's still not 'there' yet.
