Lol. This is why I can't be a fan of Martinez. Not only could he clean up his own division and stop crying about not getting fights by fighting guys like Golovkin and Pirog. He could fight one of the top guys at 168 win or lose. But the dude is too afraid to take any risks. Sick of these divas. I say drop him from his P4P spot if he don't take a dangerous fight in the near future.

Even though Froch is flawed and vulnerable to a good technician, I'd still pick him over Martinez at 168. Martinez is only just now growing into a MW frame. A fight within the next year against a strong SMW like Froch might be too soon. I think he'd overpower Martinez. Frankly, Martinez' best bet is just to go back to 154, provided he still can.

martinez is in cherry pick heaven. he's making millions fighting easy opponents over and over while pretending he can't fight the dangerous guys because they aren't draws but then he fights guys who aren't draws but also suck so that excuse is clearly bull. they are already lining up andy lee for his next opponent.

He moved up in weight to fight Williams at 160 on 2 weeks notices while other people were proclaiming that Paul was the "most feared guy in boxing". He then beats the recognized middleweight champ of the world............a guy with a 5 inch height advantage and 11 pound weight advantage on fight night and he beats the mess out of him.

He fights Williams again at a weight that Williams wanted and he crushes himin 2 rds. After that he fights a taller guy in Dzinziruk who came up from 154 tochallenge for the belt....a guy that had never been down as an amateur or pro.....drops him 5 times in the fight.

So already he is: 160-147 = 13 pounds north of where he began his career. People want him to jump up another 8 pounds which would put him at 21 pounds north of where he started. Martinez's frame is only going to support around 170-175 pounds of normal weight. While a guy like Ward would support 190-200 pounds normally, so this means Martinez will cut maybe 8 pounds while Ward cuts nearly 25 pounds to make weight. Fight rolls around and Martinez comes in at 172 and Ward strolls in at 185, plus a height and reach advantage............................yet Martinez is just afraid to fight guys his own size and wants to pick on smaller dudes. It'd be like JMM against Floyd again.

This would be a great fight, i doubt that Sexy Sergio moves up tho 168 though. Froch on points if it happens.

i'd take the top 5 supermiddles to beat martinez...funny how team martinez say they wont fight at 168 because the supers are too big for martinez (too big? any of the supermiddleweight would most likely only be about 10lbs heavier than martinez, whereas martinez would outweight pac by 20 to 25 lbs...so they feel not okay to be outweighed by 10 pounds but okay to outweight pac by 20 to 25 lbs? they are a bunch of classless peeps if u ask m)...

then turn around and say they will fight froch if froch beat ward...well, well...why not just say martinez will be willing to fight the winner of the froch/ward?

its not about bringin up pac...its just pointing out the fact that team martinez talk about being smaller than the super middleweights and would be outweighted by at an average of about 10 pounds, which is not ok by them...and at the same time, team marttinez wants to fight pac and would most likely outweight pac by as much as 25 pounds on fight nite...

manny is fighting 40 pounds heavier where he started his career. . . Like I said, if Sergio calls Manny out at 150, then we can talk about manny ducking him. . . if he is a junior middle weight like you claim, and is so small, why can't he come down to 150 to make a big fight? Sergio is no longer a JMW - he is a full blown MW. At the 30 day weigh in he's weighed between 173-178. Yes, after TWO MONTHS of training camp, he's still not below 170. Martinez would be a smaller 168'er, but he would have speed to make up for it.

Why isn't he fighting at 154 instead of 160? He had the choice to go back to 154 after he beat Pavlik and WIlliams in rematch.

If Froch can deal with Direll(Fastest man on the planet) Serg would be a walk in the park.

Froch didn't "deal" with Dirrell very well. He only "won" that fight with a lot of help from the referee and the judges. All the holding and hitting and judo trips but Dirrell is the one ended up getting penalized? That was the most bogus refereeing and decision I have ever witnessed. Froch knows he didn't really win that fight because he still can't stop trash talking Dirrell and making lame ass excuses about why he looked so bad in that fight.
