I've had time to think... I've lost a lot of respect for Jose Luis Castillo

In my eyes, what Castillo has done has opened the door to this kind of thing happening again.
Taking a fight that a fighter knows he can't make the weight for, but doing anyway so that it'll help further his career in a higher weight division. The money involved with that fight inssured that the fight was going to happen regardless.
What Castillo did was far worse than what Corrales did (spitting the mouth piece out).
You see, sources say Morales has trouble makin 130lbs.....it would really pissed ta shyt outa me if he came in ta weigh in weighin 133-135lbs in ta rematch. I'd **** him up if he does that to pacman I'm sayin!!!!!

I think Castillo has done something really bad here... It opens a door to others doing it.

I like Chico a lot and have only rooted against him when he fought my boy JL.
I have stated a ton that Corrales needs to get away from JL and take a nice long break at the very minimum 1 year...
BUT...
If Corrales, his people and his fans think he was ****ed and that the weight was the difference in the fight then you all should be clamoring for an immediate rematch.
Corrales can never be counted out because of his p4p best punch but he will get smoked in a third fight and it is the worst thing for him in terms of health...
If he was ****ed and lost because of weight get him back in their with Castillo and we will find out!
Im sure Castillo would sign the fight for next month if thats what Chico's people wanted...
To many unkowns as to why Castillo came in over weight, some say he wanted blood no matter what and some say it was a unintentional mistake that does occur when fighters push themselves to make a certain weight. Maybe it was a little of both...what I will refuse to do is state for certain exactly what the **** went on...Ill let the wacked out fans of both guys do that.

How can anyone call a fight meaningless when a fighter is knocked out in 4 rounds by a single punch. The loss will stay with Corrales.

Forget the result of the fight... What Castillo did was dangerous, and other than a $120,000 fine he's not been punished... He still got paid $1,000,000 and he took the victory.
He didn't want the belts anyway, he can't defend them because he can't make 135lbs anymore.
He played a weight making game... He played the system, and he got away with it... Because he knew that a PPV fight with this much money involved would go ahead regardless.
And I wouldn't be suprised if in the original contract he signed it stated that he would be fined 10% of his purse if he didn't make the weight... Small price to pay when you consider the next fight he's set up for himself at 140lbs after this victory.
Forget about the result of this fight, and look at it this way.
He's a naughty boy.

Talk about beating a dead horse.
Originally posted by Martin (Top Knowledge)He had no intentions of making the weight, he just wanted to win... Regardless of the rules:
- His camp even tried to disrupt the proceedings...
- The weight difference made a BIG difference... Whilst Castillo was training hard, Corrales was making weight loss preperations.
- So Corrales weighed in on the night 2lbs heavier than Castillo on the night?... Corrales extra weight was fluid gain as opposed to solid muscle.
- The Castillo camp knew that this fight wouldn't be called off at that late stage because of the money involved!
- That Castillo camp did this knowing that they wouldn't win the belts, but also that Castillo would never fight at 135lbs again anyway, and a win here was the perfect way to set up a big money fight at 140lbs!
I will say that Corrales had a bad game plan anyway, and probably would have lost... But that's irrelivant... What's important here is that - Castillo played the system, and got away with it!
Who's to say that others won't try these kind of tricks in the future when big money's involved?
Before the mexican fans jump on me... I will add that I don't compare "not making the weight" to in-fight tactics like the mouthpiece, a lowblow, or leading with the head. The weight issue can get people hurt or killed!

Castillo has to feel like the dumbest person in the world after he TKO Corrales for no belt.
And Corrales has to be one of the dumbest for asking for a third match when he clearly was losing the two fights before both stoppages.
Originally posted by ParodiusBecause no belts were involved. That makes it meaningless in my eyes.
