I have a feeling Mayweather will stop Ortiz.

I don't think Mayweather would stop Ortiz by hurting him bad, but I won't be surprised to see Ortiz's corner throw the towel late in a fight Ortiz is being humiliated in.

        This is an excellent post.

Victor has shown mentally he's not as strong, and I don't know Ortiz personally, but there's something that tells me once it hits him (no pun intended) whether it's the night before or right before the bell sounds for round 1 that he's fighting master boxer Floyd Mayweather, he'll be thinking what the hell did I get myself into...

That's why i'm not phased by Ortiz when he says "i'm going to brutalize you for 12 rounds, oh wait i'm going to knock you out". He doesn't even believe himself when he says that.

I could see that happening or him basically quitting like he did against Maidana after missing his shots and getting countered all night long.

no way that happens Ortiz has a great chin they only way and it won't be a corner stoppage because of the **** he got for the Maidana fight.

Since when does Ortiz have a great chin?

I agree Ortiz is not mentally strong and does kind of go through the motions like he did against Lamont but imo Ortiz is a different beast when he is the underdog he will be mentally there against Mayweather.

remember how he was before the Berto fight, Victor Ortiz with nothing to lose is a very dangerous opponent

Uhh... did you not see Peterson wobble Ortiz with a single right hand to the chin?

                      I agree.

Plus, this is his first HUGE stage. In a couple of interviews I have seen Victor addressed how exhausting the promotion has been and how shocked he is by that, this was just 2 days in! Just little things like that make me think the magnitude will effect him.

Plus, it's an astrnomical step up in class for him.
