Do most boxing "fans" actually HATE boxers?

I think a lot of people are just looking to make people laugh. I have to admit I've been guilty of the same: I LOVE picking on Canelo and JCC Jr. I honestly can't help myself when someone makes a hate thread about them because they're hilarious. That being said, I have no hatred for either fighter. I actually like them. I'd say it's just for laughs 9/10 times.

Boxing is like any sport. It's us versus them.

Each fan picks their favorites and holds them blindingly high. They have a few fighters they don't particularly like for whatever reason, and they get ridden down at every turn. This is naturally the way it is.

No one is saying Wach is an ATG heavyweight.

Nah, you're just trying to make him look like a credible opponent if your hero chooses to fight him.

He does that all the time Jab.

The other week, he bigged up Fury saying how 'smart' he was in the ring in his last fight. I nearly shat myself laughing. He does it to try and bolster his hero's 'legacy' in case they fight each other.

For example, Kelly Pavlik has personal problems and is on the verge of ruining his career, and instead of empathy for a fellow human being, almost all I read are remarks like "he's a loser neo-****," "he's a drunken fool, a bum," and "he's white trash garbage."

Fighters like Wlad and even Marius Wach get very big wins and the instead of getting praise, the hatred level in boxing forums against them gets turned up to 11.

Cris Arreola is making a big effort to get his career on track, and instead of encouragement, most of the comments I read about him are putdowns, calling him a fat waste of time, an untalented bum, asking "why doesn't he just quit?" etc, etc.

Really, this is kind of amazing. It's like boxing fans lack any kind of human empathy. Is this what it means to be a boxing fan? Sure seems that way.
            It's them fanboys I tell ya !
But that's how it is in any sport. Haters gonna hate.

How can you not hate boxers such as Tony Ayala jr and James Bulter.

Plenty of boxers out there to hate and for good reason.
