When assesing a fighters resume loses count to, DUH

Should we ignore the fact that Pacquiao was KTFO by bums in Torrecampo and Sinsurat because those defeats came early in his career when he wasn't a great fighter? Should we ignore Wlad's loses to Sanders, Brewster, and Purity because he wasn't the great champion that he was today back then? A resume is not just about wins, loses and draws count too and they should be treated as such.

I agree with you to an extent. You are talking about two great boxers, who are now dominating their divison/s. Pacquiao's incredible ascension and achievements, overshadows his losses against likes of Singsurat or Torrecampo.

It all depends on the circumstances, Pacquiao loses aren't that serious because as you said, he became a greater fighter later on.

For example Duran lost to Laing, I personally think he didn't train for that fight (He didn't look like himself) but those are the kind of loses that actually matter.

True but the fact is that he was KTFO by 2 bums that should not be ignored.

so it means he's less of a fighter he deserved to be with those losses?

Nope, I disagree all loses count no matter when they occur. The same people who say that Roy Jones Jr. has tarnished his legacy with all his recent defeats will ignore Pac's KO loses to Torrecampo and Singsurat and Wlad's KO loses to Sanders, Brewster and Purity. That makes no sense. Everything you do in your career matters. I'm a SRL fan but you can't ignore his loss to Camacho. Everything a fighter does counts, it's about an entire career not just portions of it.

did you just compare Roy Jones losses to Pac's losses and saying they're in the same context?

It means those loses should affect the judgment of his resume. The loses do make up a part of his resume right, or do they not count?
