    Chris John is a joke

You know something brrrother, when I 1st saw John I really liked his style and became a fan but now I am turned hater over the past year as he is just holding that WBA title hostage and refuses to fight anyone good ever since he had his scare and hometown decision over JMM.

There are always threads about the possibility of John vs Gamboa/De Leon/JuanMa....ETC and they never materialize and we can all guess why while all of these fighters are fighting each other but every now and again he decides to actually make a defense so he doesn't get stripped against an absolutely terrible opponent.

Is he ever going to step up again and take a chance or just keep padding is record fighting easy opponents at home? I mean the guy has almost 50 pro fight and fought 1 good opponent and 1 moderately decent opponent twice.

He's a top flight boxer, but I think he's had health issues lately and frankly, over the last few fights I've seen he looks a little bit shopworn to me.

I don't think its a matter of courage since he was man enough to fight the legendary JMM, but more so that his career is just winding down.

He needs to come on over here where the real fighters are so he can get knocked out. I'm sick of hearing about this guy. Every since I started following boxing a few years ago, I've heard about this mysterous guy over in Indonesia who is one of the top guys that never fights anybody...Why do they even mention his name? **** his belt. If someone takes all the other titles I will consider them undisputed champion.

I think he has been WBA champion for like 8 years running and has something like 13-14 defenses, no wonder though.

He should just fight Gamboa or someone good and see what he really has.

That's impressive longevity, but like you said, he needs to beat top fighters. Did he truly beat JMM, or was it a gift? Honestly, I don't care if he knocked him out, because there are so many good fighters at featherweight that he hasn't fought it's disgusting.

Not even with 2 point deductions, he was lost and confused in there with a great fighter like Marquez. The only round he even clearly win was the last round.

I think that John is very good technically but he's very fragile physically. Rocky Juarez is someone people laugh at a lot but he does have legit power and I think those 2 fights with him really took a lot out of John.

I had it 9 to 3 for JMM so even with the bogus hometown deductions John should've still lost but boxing isn't fair and the home guy always gets the robbery.

That fight wasn't even close if you actually pay attention. It was man against boy.

well, there are plenty of examples of a fighter who does something courageous then goes into hiding for a while. Felix Strum is a great example of that - took on Oscar, was a big underdog, then went back to Germany fighting weak opposition for many years never taking on a top MW.
