Miranda was on his way to a victory
If what you say about the cards is accurate, those judges weren't scoring properly, in my opinion. As far as I could tell, Despaine was clearly better. He didn't dominate, but Yordanis won at least three of the four completed rounds. (I remember Teddy Atlas having the fight 10-8, 10-8, 10-8 for Despainge, after three rounds.) The first point deduction and the stoppage were BS, I'm sure we agree. But Miranda on his way to victory? lol Pure speculation....

Edison is washed up. He needed a win to stay relevant. Miranda didn't even look good in a losing effort. He looked slow and lethargic. And he lost to a guy with nine pro fights, whose own future isn't all that bright.

miranda has a stigma about him after the abraham 1st fight..... and i think the ref held that in his mind, because after the first low blow after the bell, he should've given a warning not taken a point away, and even after taking the point away he never warned miranda after that, nothing..... just another point then the douchebag STOPPED THE FIGHT IN MID ACTION!!!! WITH NO WARNING!?!?!?

he could've stopped the action and said, " one more low blow and i have no choice but to stop the fight "

despaigne got a gift win in that fight because miranda had taken his best shots, with his hands down, and was walking through them, and miranda was stepping up his attack, applying pressure and making the fight happen...

someone needs to get in the refs ass over this.............. clearly he wasn't thinking right after his performance form last week.........

not sure who would've won had it gone the distance, but one thing i do know, is that ALL OF US WERE CHEATED OUT OF A FIGHT THAT WAS SHAPING UP TO BE A GOOD ONE!!!. THANKS VIC THE DIC.........DRACULICH.....
Good post. This is what is ruining the sport of boxing. Let the fighters fight. Nothing was intentional, nothing was dirty. Could have been a war going foward in which I think Miranda would have continued to wear down Despainge and get a late KO. Maybe even a decision. Who knows. We will never know. Rematch is a must. Neither fighter can be happy with the results and there is nothing better for either one of them right now.

Miranda was coming on strong and the fight just got very interesting when the ref DQ Miranda. I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Anyway I still think Despaigne would've KO'd Miranda late in the fight.

Regarding his fight against Ismail Syllakh. It's not like Despaigne forgot about being the boxer. He was getting outboxed and felt desperate and tried to be the brawler instead. Ismail Syllakh is on another level.
