martinez a blown up welterweight? cotto is a blown up welterweight. pac fighting at jmw (with no catchweight) would be a blown up welterweight. martinez is 5'10"..he should be able to compete at super middleweight. sergio has the size and frame to move up to super middleweight without too much problem i think.

He did start out at WW then moved up to JMW and most recently moved up to MW. He's 5'10 which is shorter than both De La Hoya and Margarito. Who never moved up to SMW. Yet I would like to see it but I still wouldn't mind seeing him fight at JMW or MW.

The optimal weight for a fighter to be comfortable fighting at isnt just about height. Its about his frame, his strength to weight ratio, and just where he feels he is comfortable at. SMW is a little big for Sergio. Sad how everyone has to rag on every little thing a fighter does, on here. The guy would rather go down in weight then up. Thats his choice. WTF. I just wanna see some good fights. Hes definitely kinda small to be matched with guys @ SMW and others who are LHW who bounced down to SMW. IF he can make 154, and there is fights there, then why wouldnt he do it. He probably sacrifice too much speed going to 168, which is one of his greatest assets.

              Tyson was also 5'10".

Sergio was 176lbs 1 month before the P. Williams fight, are you seriously saying that he isn't bigger then ODLH?

What a hipocrit, they wont move to 168 but they wan Pac and Floyd to move up!!! What a cherry picker this guy has become!!!

Anyways, if he is a blown up WW, then he should be able to make the 147 limit, therefore he can fight Pac and Floyd and 147 if he is really is interested in fighting them!!!

I call bull**** on this thoough, MArtinez came in at 170 pounds vs Dzinziruk, so i doubt he can even make 154 safely!!!!

                This is just sad!!!

Tell Martinez & Co. They Are Gutless! Leonard, Hearns They Went to 175!

Martinez won't go to 168, but wants to call out smaller guys like Pacquiao, Mayweather and Cotto..... what a joke. Leonard, Hearns, even Duran went to 168 and beyond. What a wus. Claiming to be a blown up Junior Middleweight is ridiculous. NEXT.... I could care less about Martinez, but he does need to grow a pair.

Martinez weighs in for his middleweight fights at 167 and super middleweights like Bute weigh in around 185. Martinez would give up too much weight and strength at 168.
