This thread is hilarious. How the hell do you guys define athletic? To me athleticism encompasses speed, agility, quickness, jumping ability, etc. Being well conditioned doesn't make you athletic, DUH. You don't need great athleticism to be a successful cyclist or swimmer that is just so dumb. People on this site can be so ******. The NBA has the best ATHLETES in the world anybody who says otherwise is either dumb or biased.

You pick and choose to support your argument. We can't show such bias to support our arguments, because just comparing 2 athletes does not reflect some absolute truth.

Theres an absurd amount of players in the nba, and you could go pretty deep in the divisions in boxing to make a fair comparison as to how many are still "at a high level" in their mid30s.

I don't get how i just confirmed that one require more athleticism (I'm undecided) than the other, but what the hell do i know.
So your stance is that basketball requires more athleticism than boxing.... Considering Malone and Stockton led the Jazz to back-to-back Finals runs in their late thirties, as they were supreme athletes playing in a sport where they have substitutes, 6 timeouts (20 second and full, which lasted more than a minute), a half-time where they could eat oranges and re-energize, and they had to be cautious of opposition where the intent was to inflict physical pain upon them.

You're right, basketball requires more athleticism than Boxing/MMA.

According to your criteria Track athletes and Strength athletes are the most athletic then. Also do you see NBA players as more athletic as NFL players? But as you said it depends on how you define athleticism.

Look at how many fat people play in the NBA,NFL, even NHL is more demanding than NBA/NFL

That article writer is a ******, he has Badminton up there but not Swimming or Cycling? WTF?

You can take a Cyclist/Swimmer and they can play a full NBA game or full soccer game.

But if you take a NBA/NFL player they will gas quickly in Swimming/Cycling where you need real endurance.

A sport where you run for 20 seconds and have a 2min break isnt Physically challenging.
What does anything you posted have to do with athleticism? Being well conditioned doesn't make you athletic. You're the ******.

Great, nobody asked you to respond to the question I posed to, Someone. Chances are you would have saved a lot of time instead of providing a list of past-prime fighters in their mid to late-thirties which didn't answer the question that was posed to somebody else.

I did specify i was answering your previous question as was how many athletes play/fight at a high level.

No idea why you felt i shouldn't answer that question, and not sure how that relates to most of the points I've refuted.

                      Just from the currently active ones, theres for example;

Wladimir, Vitali, Tarver, Hopkins, Glen Johnson, Marquez, Mosley if you wanna call what hes doing high level, k9 just won a strap.. i dont know, is tua considered high level?

I'm sure theres a bunch more. If you accept mid thirties theres obviously an absurd amount of fighters matching the criteria.
                      Was my question

A.) Being able to "play"(fight) at a high level

                      or

B.) Name some more [fighters their mid-thirties but they are in their primes.]
